Recap: [Hybrid] India, March 28, Ramadhan Food Walk Meetup - Bengaluru

I would like to share the recap on my recent meetup which is Ramadhan Food Walk Meetup hosted at Frazer Town, Bengaluru on March 28, 2025 between 7 PM and 8 PM. Before starting the recap, I would first like to thank @KashifMisidia bhai for suggesting me to host the Ramadhan Food Walk Meetup.

There are two main reasons for which I selected the venue as Frazer Town. One is that the Frazer Town is famous for the amazing food streets especially during Ramadhan. The second reason is that I actually conducted similar Food Walk Meetup during Ramdhan on 2019. So I wanted to try the same experience once again to see what has changed in the last six years.

As the meetup time was 7 PM which is right after Iftar (which is the evening meal muslims have to break the fast during the month of Ramadhan) around 6:30 PM and as I was fasting and was on my way to the meetup point, I have stopped at a Mosque at 6:30PM to break my fast and to offer my Maghrib prayer. It is sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to break the fast with dates but since I was outside and didn’t had enough time to break the fast inside the Mosque, I had samosa right outside the Mosque and then in few minutes, I went inside the Mosque and offered my Maghrib prayer.

Then I left to reach the Meetup location. In sometime I reached the Meetup point few minutes late and looked for anyone joining the meetup in person. After waiting for few minutes and since couldn’t find anyone else, I decided to start the Meetup by exploring the Frazer Town.

As I expected, there were huge crowds in Frazer Town right at the Meetup point and as it was hybrid meetup, I decided to join the Meetup link to see anyone joining virtually. During the meetup I shared the meetup link with two of our local WhatsApp groups with Local Guides.

In few minutes, I was very much glad to have @TravellerG Sir joining the meetup. I virtually showed him the Meetup point and the crowd at the location. I had also shared with him about my meetup experience at the same location years ago. As the meetup location is far from the TG Sir’s house and as the meetup time was also at 7PM, he wasn’t able to join the Meetup in person. I have promised him that I will host another meetup soon during day time to have his wonderful company.

After few minutes during the call, I was very happy to have @NareshDarji bhai joining the call. It has been quite a while speaking with Naresh bhai, and I was showing him the Meetup point and the street shops and was also sharing with him about my last meetup experience as well at that location. Though I know Naresh bhai from more than seven years, right from the start of my local guides journey, I have never met him in person and have spoken with him countless times over Connect, or during meetup, but I am really excited to meet him in person someday soon.

Then later few minutes, I was very much glad to have @Supriyadevkar joining the meetup. It was my first time knowing about Supriya, so I briefly introduced myself and got to know about Supriya as well. I shared about my last meetup experience at the same location and how much excited I am to see the what has changed in the last six years. I showed the meetup point and the street stalls selling delicious non veg dishes, and also the huge crowd at the location. I went to a food stall which was selling so many delicious dishes such as Sheek Kabab, Phaal roll, Kaadi Ghost, etc. I have ordered Sheek Kabab and tried it during the call itself. It tasted so good and I was showing the other dishes what they were selling to Supriya. It was a great time discussing about our experiences and showing the meetup location and stalls to Supriya virtually and I would like thank Supriya for taking time to join the Meetup.

Then I went to the Sweet stall which is right at the Meetup point and tried taking similar photos which I took on my last meetup. They were selling different types of Samosas, Rolls, Caramel Puddings, Bread Malai, and much more. I have seen most of them last time as well.

I ordered Pudding which is one of my favourite sweets and it was delicious.

Then I took a walk on the food street and right nearby, there is a Savera Cafe where I had tea. Savera Tea is a kind of franchise and they super delicious tea. It is something that you can’t miss whenever you cross any of Savera Tea Shops.

It was around the time for the Isha Prayer and there is a beautiful Mosque at Frazer Town where I went to offer my Isha Prayer.

Right opposite to the Mosque, there is a well known shop called Zayan Food Corner which I visited in my last meetup as well. They also serve delicious non veg dishes such as Sheek Kabab, Kadi Ghost, Phal Roll, etc. This time I ordered for takeaway and while they were preparing it, I took similar photos like last time.

Then I took a walk and reached at Al Zara Restaurant which is one of my favourite restaurants in Bengaluru to have delicious Mandi Briyani. I have had with my family, friends here countless times and they serve so good everytime. But as I didn’t had enough space in my stomach, I tried Mohabbat ka Sharbat (kind of a watermelon milkshake) at a stall right outside the Al Zara Restaurant. It was really so good and while I was trying to take photo of it, the person who was selling it, suggested me to take the photo from a different angle (by keeping the lights on the background) and it came really beautiful and I thanked him. At Al Zara Restaurant, they were also selling Mutton as well as Chicken Haleem which I ordered for takeaway. Haleem is a wonderful dish which is very popular especially during Ramadhan.

At last, I decided to find a tea shop nearby where I had Tandoori Chai last time and though the shop was moved to the opposite road, I was able to find it and had the Tandoori Chai.

By that time, it was 9:15 PM but the meetup was planned till 8 PM. I enjoyed a lot visiting the places which I visited six years ago and reliving the experience. I am glad to had TravellerG Sir, Naresh bhai, Supriya join the Meetup to make this meetup much more memorable to me since I am sure someday I will look back this one the same way how I looked back my last meetup at this place.

Thank you for taking time reading my recap and I hope you enjoyed it. Take care, stay safe and Peace.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot, dear Salman - unfortunately, I was in my night dress & hence couldn’t open my camera.
Thanks also for your kind words.

Sorry, the location was too far off for me to reach in the peak traffic hours. Fortunately, I could see your Food Walk, through your mobile - thanks once again.

Regards, dear @SalmaanN
See you soon…

Hi @Hope I am glad to know you like it. It was a great experience and the food that surprised me the most would be Sheek Kabab which was really good. Haleem is something I love having it especially during Ramadhan and that was also delicious.
