Recap: [In-Person] India, September 20, Local Guide Food Crawl: Rameshwaram Cafe Edition✨

Hello Dear Local Guides :waving_hand:

Some meet-ups feed your hunger, and some feed your soul.

Our Local Guides Bengaluru Meet-up at The Rameshwaram Café, Brookfield was truly one of those evenings — where food, friendships, and meaningful conversations came together in perfect harmony. :dizzy:

:herb: A Café That Sets the Bar High

Rameshwaram Café wasn’t just the venue — it was part of the experience.

:sparkles: Impeccable hygiene standards were visible right from the moment we stepped in.

:man_cook: The open kitchen offered a transparent glimpse into their efficient and spotless cooking area — every dosa flip and chutney grind was a delight to watch!

:seedling: Their eco-friendly serveware, waste segregation bins, and minimal-plastic policy reflected a genuine commitment to sustainability.

:credit_card: UPI-enabled self-order kiosks made ordering quick, paperless, and seamless — blending technology with tradition effortlessly.

:cityscape_at_dusk: The Evening That Sparkled

As twilight painted the skies of Whitefield, the café’s warm lighting, lively vibe, and aromatic air set the perfect tone for our gathering.

Every table buzzed with laughter and stories — from unforgettable travel adventures to Google Maps hacks and dream places to review next! :round_pushpin::sparkles:

The butter masala dosa, ghee podi idli, and strong filter coffee were clear crowd favorites — but what truly stood out was the ambience — cheerful, clean, and welcoming, making it feel like an extended Local Guides family reunion. :yellow_heart:

Now this feels a little unfair. With such an amazing spread of delicious food, you all got to enjoy the feast in person, @KetanChhaniyara, while we were left watching and chatting from behind our screens.

That said, jokes apart, the meetup was truly delightful and engaging, even virtually. The conversations, the energy, and the shared enthusiasm made it feel as though we were right there with you all. What made it even more special for us was that we joined in for the first time from an airport lounge while waiting for our flight. That unique setting added a whole new layer of charm to the experience and gave us even more reason to remember this gathering fondly.

Thanks a lot for sharing the moments and making us feel included, even from afar.

@KetanChhaniyara What a beautifully detailed post! If I wasn’t there, I could truly feel the atmosphere through your vivid descriptions :ok_hand: I want to sincerely thank you all for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and the honour of being included and the thoughful gesture. Thanks for the treat :folded_hands::heart_hands:

Such a unique place and concept! Oh it remind me that I need to write a review! The shared dish culture and sitting on the floor to eat aren’t common practices where I’m from, but I found them deeply authentic and meaningful. The food itself was delicious :face_savoring_food: and the experience felt genuinely rooted in place and tradition. I forgot which was my favorite food :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

From that day on, my absolute favorite discovery was the salted lime soda!:heart_eyes: I ordered it throughout my stay in India, and I must say, the taste and quality in Bangalore were far superior to what I had in Mumbai. Even after returning home, I tried to recreate it with salt, sugar, lime, and sparkling water :star_struck: After few attempts, I managed to get surprisingly close to the original taste, though I’ve lost track of the exact proportions  I’ll need to keep experimenting until I master it!

Now, keeping the best for the last .. a memory frozen in time; the joyful chaos as we all reached for the food, cameras first :camera_with_flash: Local Guides at their finest :wink::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Thank you again @KetanChhaniyara for the heartfelt kindness and the respect :woman_bowing::folded_hands:. I had a wonderful time, and it was truly a pleasure meeting each of you! @Dr.KushShah @Premalpatel @VikramSingh_Valera @NareshDarji @AnshukMitra @Arati @RosyKohli @SalmaanN :heart_hands::folded_hands:
