Recap: [In-Person] India, June 22, 🌈 Join us for a Pride Meet-Up at Sidecar 🌈

Hi Fellow Local Guides,

A Day Drenched in Pride & Purpose :rainbow::sparkles: β€” 22nd June 2025 at Sidecar, GK2 New Delhi

What do you get when you blend soulful conversations, inclusive energy, delicious food, and shopping that supports a cause? A perfect Sunday!

Met up with my amazing crew β€” @sonamw, @ssiddharth2000 & @nomad_enkay β€” at 1:45 PM and headed straight to the Pride Edition pop-up hosted by @delhiqueerspaces & @sidecarindia. The vibe? Electric. The welcome? Heartfelt. :sparkling_heart:

We were greeted by the warm and ever-inspiring Gurnoor, our host for the day. Soon enough, we were swept into a vibrant market celebrating queer-owned businesses β€” bookmarks, resin keychains, Pride stickers, quirky earrings, bracelets, delicious cookies, colour-me sheets, books and more. Every stall carried stories. Every purchase felt like a celebration. :shopping_bags::rainbow:

Upstairs on the first floor, we found a cozy corner β€” literally! A reading nook filled with books you could read or even buy. We took a break here, sipping on Sidecar’s signature teas, Virgin Mojitos, munching on peri-peri fries and edamame β€” everything fresh, flavorful, and honestly, nourishing to both body and soul. :teacup_without_handle::french_fries: We saw that the resturant follows sustainability options like stainless steel straws, rice straws and refilling water as and when required.

By 5 PM, we returned to the second floor just in time for something special. We got the opportunity to interview Gurnoor β€” asked her about Pride, her journey, and her empowering contributions to the community. Her words? Pure inspiration.

Then came one of the most thoughtful activities of the day β€” the Pride Postcard Exchange :open_mailbox_with_raised_flag::sparkles:
We picked postcards, stamped them, and wrote heartfelt notes based on beautiful prompts. But the magic? After dropping ours into the mailbox, we picked a card written by someone else β€” and every message felt like it found just the right person. The universe truly knows.

We discussed about Google maps, it’s features and about Google connect with many stall owners and also taught @SonamW how to map roads the right way.

The evening closed with the moving β€œComing Out Crusades” β€” four powerful stories, shared by courageous speakers about coming out, family, fears, faith, and freedom. Not a dry eye in the room. :speech_balloon::rainbow:

And finally, the energy shifted to celebration as the after-party kicked off β€” joyful, inclusive, unforgettable.

From deep conversations to colourful cookies, this day reminded me that Pride is not just a moment β€” it’s a movement. Grateful for the love, the laughter, and the lingering warmth I took back home with me.

I hope you all see the snapshots of joy, postcards of love, and the most heartwarming souvenirs :love_letter:
