On 25th January 2025 10 local guides from Pune met at the Joshi’s minature museum of Railways.
After refuelling ourself with a cup of tea we headed to the museum.
The museum contains minature models of trains and also a whole working minature city:star_struck: how cool isn’t it
All the the local guides the got tickets of the magical journey and enjoyed the magic of the minature world. A huge thanks to all the local guides who joined online.
After the minature magic the local guides had a chaat pe charcha session where we discussed on how can the museum attract more people. We also discussed on how to conduct more meetups
Congratulations on hosting your first meetup, dear Sumedh @framesbysumedh, It was a great choice of museum and food joint
Here is my recap:
First of all, thank you for honoring my request to host the meetup.
I and Sumedh were the early birds
Sumedh arrived almost 45 minutes before time
Soon, other local guides arrived and we lined up for the tickets and queued up in the lobby for the next show at the museum
After some time, the signal turned green, and we rushed upstairs to the miniature railway arena. We were teleported into another world—an entire city with a railway station and other stuff—all in miniature form.
All local guides young and old, enjoyed it a lot.
After that, we visited the souvenir shop and the workshop where they manufacture these handmade souvenirs.
I remember going to the Museum 20 years ago and I purchased a railway engine keychain as a souvenir.
Due to constant use, it has lost the boiler, driver cabin, and wheel.
I was happy that they were selling the same keychain after 20 years
We had a group photo outside the Joshi Miniature Railway Museum.
Then we had snacks and coffee at a local small business.
Food + Drinks + Badges and Stickers = Joy Unlimited
I presented to Sumedh a note of appreciation for hosting his first meetup:
Here’s the note of appreciation to Sumedh Kakatkar:
hAll local guides were happy to exchange tips and tricks about Google Maps and Connet during over food.
More photo opportunities were awaiting Pune Google Maps Lovers
We Meetups
In between we supported local small businesses by having another round of tea:
Finally, we posed for a final round of group photos holding the INDIA LOCAL GUIDES toran.
Pune local guides are meeting again on Tuesday or Wednesday for the next meetup in PCMC, to be hosted by Durga.
Thanks a lot

Here is my recap on this:
Last weekend, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11 AM IST, we had a hybrid meet-up hosted by Sumedh at Joshi’s Railway Museum with supporting small businesses around.
Attendees: Sumedh the host, @TusharSuradkar , Madan Jadhav with his cute little daughter, Ketan Kangankar joined us after a long gap, happy to see him and Merlin with Nithin Thomas.
The meet-up began with an early freshening up with an energy booster cup of tea at a nearby tea shop.
Then we moved to the main location of Joshi’s Museum. We bought the individual tickets ( Rs. 120 each) and went inside.
We went upstairs to attend the miniature train show. It took us on a global railway journey, describing its origins and current location. From steam engines to bullet trains and multiple uses of the train across the world. It was entertaining as well as very educational.
We set up live streaming for the virtual attendees since they permitted a video recording. I had a wonderful time. A few of us bought key chains and other souvenirs for ourselves.
After a group photo at the entrance, we headed for some snacks at The Chaar Cafe of Ganesh Bhel, which was adjacent to it. Nice ambience and a special corner at the entrance for a group photo.
After sharing a token card with Sumedh for his first meeting, we parted ways with the understanding that we would see each other again soon.
The meet up was interesting for me as I love trains. I took some pictures while I was attending this meet up virtually.
It was fun and @framesbysumedh @TusharSuradkar were answering questions in between during the souvenir shop visit too. Thank you for this experience
Thanks a lot
Your support means a lot
