The primary goals of the Maps Master meetup at PCMC Metro station were:
- Accessibility awareness for new commuters of Pune Metro.
- Small Business Support near the PCMC Metro Station.
The day started with breakfast at Zaika Chai 89.
I had Poha and my favorite Chai with Bun-Maska ![]()
This tea shop is located inside the Jewel of Pimpri mall.
So we did a short assessment of the accessibility features of the parking and entrance.
Although the front entrance to the mall was not accessible, there was neatly marked accessible parking outside.
@framesbysumedh and new local guide Ravi Nair joined for the meetup.
I presented Ravi a Local Guides keychain as a souvenir for the meetup.
After this, we headed to the PCMC Metro Station.
At the entrance, I demonstrated the elevator and its accessibility features.
Several local guides attended the meetup online.
Accessibility features like a ramp, tactile path, and railings were noted at the metro station’s entrance.
We also nothed sustanability practices at the station, like waste segregation and, further, the accessibility features like tactile path, leading all the way to the metro station platform.
I showed this to online attendees via a Google Meet.
Before concluding, I could not resist taking some amazing shots of the Pune-Mumbai highway from the walkover bridge.
Pune metro stations are beautiful from the inside too.
Here’s the newly constructed interiors of Pune Metro
A huge thanks to online attendees @K.K.Sharma @Rahul001 @Dipayan_Mandal @SarathUpendran, @TravellerG and @ShwetaAnandBhosale
