Recap: [Hybrid] India, April 27, Kelkar Museum and Heritage Walk

Pune is home to an astounding 45 museums.
These range from tribal art to aerospace, heritage to land records.

On 27 April 2025, local guides in Pune visited the Kelkar Museum as part of the heritage walk meetup.

The museum is located in the narrow bylanes of the old town of Pune.
And this photo sums up the morning portion of the meetup, since photography was not allowed inside.

But that was not all.

The meetup extended through the afternoon with several entertaining activities like a fun quiz conducted online by Dr. @K.K.Sharma.

Local guides who attended the meetup online enjoyed the quiz thoroughly

Myself, Kuldip Patil @Kuldip_Patil and @Rushikesh_joshi shared our screen to show the museum and heritage walk around from 3 screens

We captured essential photos of the museum exterior, various facilities like parking, timings, ticket counter, accessibility features, cafes nearby, etc.

I shared badges, keychains, stickers, and cards with attendees.

Before leaving the museum, we took another group photo:

Then we headed to Sujata Mastani, the iconic ice cream parlor in Pune.
More on this in a separate post - Beat The Heat.

This meetup was also part of the 10-Year of Google Masp Celebration meetup series initiated by @NareshDarji bhai. The first photo in the collage above was designed by him and generously shared for printing cards and stickers.

:wheelchair_symbol: Accessibility Check

:white_check_mark: The sidewalk outside the museum did not have a track for a tactile path.
:white_check_mark: The museum itself had an accessible elevator and wheelchair facility.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Sustainability and Green Earth

Outside the museum and along the sidewalk footpath, we noted there were trash bins with 3 distinct chambers to segregate bio waste, plastic, and paper waste.

Before concluding the meetup, we took another group photo for memory.

What a fantastic meetup, @TusharSuradkar ji!
It’s amazing how you blended an on-site heritage walk with online fun so seamlessly. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it. Loved seeing the group photos and all the thoughtful details you covered — from accessibility features to capturing the spirit of the day with badges and ice cream celebrations!
Kudos to all the for making it memorable.

It’s rare to see such thoughtful responses to recap posts.
Yesterday was truly a unique moment, watching all of you showcase the outskirts of museum from different angles at the same time — a memory perfectly captured in the screenshot.
Thank you for sharing it with us!

I tried to apply what I learned from you @TusharSuradkar ji, during the meet-ups. If you appreciate it, I would just say — तेरा तुझको अर्पण, क्या लागे मेरा (everything I have is already yours).

That is your humility and humbleness, Dr. @K.K.Sharma ji

Very few local guides tend to share their knowledge publicly, I truly missed your morning meetup about hosting and conducting a quiz :handshake:
