[Recap] - Accessible Mumbai - Veer Mata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan And Zoo (Rani Baug) - Ep-02

Here I am writing the recap of my 2nd Accessible meet up held on 4th Nov 2021 of at 11:00 Hrs.

Mumbai has opened up fully under the Mission Begin Again by Govt. of Maharashtra. During Lockdown we have undergone through lots of stress along with our children. And to relieve the stress of children visiting zoo is good option. Children can enjoy a lots in the Zoo as during last 2 years there were not any such zoo was open for children.

In Byculla, Mumbai there is Zoo named as Veer Mata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan And Zoo maintained by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) which is also known as Rani Bagh (Queen’s Garden). This Zoo is opening again for public from 1st Nov 2021. Hence, I decided to conduct Accessibility meet up at this Zoo.

The Area of the Zoo is quite big. It took almost 3 Hrs. to roam around fully with all the accessibility checks.

Following activities on maps were performed.

1. Marked as Open.

2. Checked the Accessibility of the Entrance of the Zoo.

3. Checked the Accessibility of the Sitting Area for Senior Citizens.

4. Checked the Accessibility of the Parking Area.

5. Checked the Accessibility of the Toilets/Washrooms.

6. Checked the Availability of Tactile Paths for the Visually-Impaired.

7. Any other Accessibility feature available at the Zoo.

This meet up is the part of Accessibility Movement for all initiated by our LG friend who is Connect Moderator, Accessibility Champion and Accessibility Guiding Star @Tushar_Suradkar. I want to thank him from bottom of my heart for his anytime support and guidance.

Conclusion of the meet up: I am very happy to state here that Veer Mata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan and Zoo is Fully Accessible. The Zoo is designed by considering all the necessary requirement for Handicapped. It was fun time while roaming in the Zoo. Children will enjoy a lots here.

The park is full of accessibility features right from the entrance and spread throughout the entire area and you have captured them well.

So now it is more advanced and attractive. Tiger view point is key attraction. But we have to wait for tiger. Yes Collage making is very tedious task.
