As a part of
Worldwide Accessibility Walk [WAW]Organized by @EmekaUlor I hosted my 1st accessibility meetup in Dalada Maligawa ( Temple of tooth relic, Kandy )
I had many questions and doubts as it was my 1st meetup; But I was repeating “ Best way to learn is to do “ in my mind.
On my way to the meetup location I saw this accessibility awareness walk in kandy, a Buddhist monk was the organizer and I was very happy to see how public reacted positively to the awareness walk.
I was happy inside that i am also helping differently abled people and making awareness as #localguide with my contributions
I went to the meetup location bit early as I had to get the permission to capture photos in side the temple premises.
As one localguide marked attending for my meetup I had to wait for more than 20 minutes, unfortunately he didn’t join me and I was bit disappointed.Maybe as it was a poya day the temple was crowded and we both didn’t recognize each other.
But if there is a way to contact the attendees it could be very easy and helpful ; So I have suggested a idea here : Link
Then I started to capture accessibility photos and I noticed many accessibility plus and minuses in the temple (temple of tooth relic) so I had to write a detailed review; I used #Accessibletourism hash tag as I said in my post. #AccessibleTourism
I was happy what was doing and did my accessibility contribution to google maps.
