Visited Connaught Place early morning on a Sunday for Rahgiri Day.
Rahgiri" refers to Raahgiri Day, a car-free citizen movement in India that transforms city streets into community spaces on Sunday mornings for walking, cycling, and other activities, promoting public engagement and sustainable urban development. Launched in Gurugram in 2013, the initiative aims to create safe, healthy, and inclusive streets free from pollution and traffic hazards, and has since expanded to over 100 Indian cities
Roads are closed to vehicular traffic, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to use them free from 7 am till 10.30 AM. There are activities like Zumba, cycling, walking, dance, running etc promoting health & fitness & contributing to healthier communities. They host workshops & put up kiosks & events to highlight themes such as road safety, women’s safety, sustainable development, gender equality, LGBTQ, and health and sanitation
A nice morning tea & breakfast at the Wagh Bakri tea lounge
Google map location
A nice lounge with both ground floor & 1st floor seating. They were running some tea combos in 149 & 2 cups of tea with 2 vada pav/samosa in 249 Rs. We tried these combos. Tea was nice. Upma was nice too made from premix though with a dash of desi ghee. Vada pav was a bit dry. No mint chutney.
Went to the Wagh bakri tea lounge couple of months later in the evening. That wasn’t as good as an experience in the morning earlier. We sat on the upper level. AC was defective & tea was average.
Otherwise it’s a nice lounge
