Hey Local Guides,
Here is my contribution to @Rahul001 Challenge : Support Local LGBTQ+ businesses PRIDE with Local Guides
On May 25th, 2025, I had the deeply fulfilling opportunity to work with Queer-e-Junglers, in association with Dwijen Dinanath Arts Foundation and Sharif Rangnekar, for a beautiful one-day gathering at NIV Art Center, New Delhi — Queer Prakriti: Who Belongs in Nature?
This pilot initiative by Queer-e-Junglers, a grassroots collective of queer artists and environmentalists, struck a profound chord. It created a space where nature was not only a backdrop but a co-healer, especially for those of us often excluded from traditional environmental narratives.
Through eco-therapy workshops, grounding exercises, and mini-talks led by queer nature and wildlife experts, we explored our connection with fungi, insects, and urban ecology. The event also offered film screenings, storytelling, and hands-on activities like clay-making — all woven into a deeply inclusive, healing, and joyful experience.
We witnessed a space that centered LGBTQ+ voices. We shared stories, breath, silence, and laughter. We celebrated and reclaimed our rightful place in nature. I got the opportunity to put up a stall to encourage the community members to engage with Local Small Businesses.
Queer Prakriti isn’t just an event — it’s the beginning of a movement. One that reminds us that nature is for everyone, and healing is a collective act..
During this event, Lunch was served on 100% biodegradable paper plates and wooden spoons, as the venue NIV Art Center supports Sustainability and Accessibility.
To conclude, I am proud to be a part of the PRIDE community, and the message I want to share is "Teach everyone to treat everyone the way they want to be treated. Respect every living organism, whether animals or humans, as it is not easy for many LGBTQ+ community people to come out in public, feeling safe.
