The results of our 12-month marathon are finally in!

For the past 6 years, our annual “Movers & Shakers” announcement focused almost exclusively on the Delta—identifying the “Movers” who added the highest absolute volume of contributions to the Map. This year, however, we wanted to evolve. We believe that explosive growth deserves as much credit as high volume. To achieve this, we are now celebrating both sides of the coin:

  • The Movers: Those with the highest absolute growth (the raw numbers).
  • The Shakers: Those with the highest percentage growth (the rising stars).

To crown our true champions, we have combined these two distinct paths through a new Decathlon Scoring System. To reward both the giants of the community and the explosive rising stars, we used a weighted scoring system. Points were awarded to anyone hitting a Top 10 spot on any of our 38 individual leaderboards:

  • 1st Place: 15 Points
  • 2nd Place: 12 Points
  • 3rd Place: 10 Points
  • 4th–10th Place: 7 Points down to 1 Point

By tracking performance across 19 different Maps contribution categories, we’ve identified the all-rounders who aren’t just growing in one area, but are dominating the Map across the board.

The Decathlon Innovation: 38 Leaderboards

With 19 different metrics being tracked for both Absolute (Movers) and Percentage (Shakers) growth, we ended up with a massive 38 individual leaderboards. Now can you imagine a single post here on Connect with 38 individual leaderboards?

It would be a wall of data that no one could comfortably navigate! To solve this, we developed a clever, interactive solution: The Top 100 HUB. This allows us to host the full complexity of the Decathlon while giving you a clean, simple way to access your specific results.

The Preliminary Leaderboards

Consistent with our tradition of excellence, these boards represent the absolute “Cream of the Crop.” Because the Decathlon requires a Local Guide to place in the Top 10 globally for at least one metric to earn points, these lists are leaner and more exclusive than ever before. What you see here isn’t just a list of participants; it is an elite roster of those who truly moved the needle in 2025.

  1. The Top 110 Movers (Absolute Yearly Delta) This board celebrates those with the highest absolute volume of contributions.

  2. The Top 110 Shakers (Percentage Growth) This board celebrates the fast-risers with the highest percentage of annual growth.

  3. The Master Badge List (Top 100 Champions) The final, deduplicated list of our 100 elite Badge Recipients.

Interactive Discovery: How to Explore!

As usual, these boards are fully interactive. Clicking on any Username will provide immediate context:

  • Standard Profiles: Takes you directly to the Local Guide’s Connect Profile.
  • HUB Members: Takes you to that LG’s personal Top 100 HUB. From there, you can click the “Top 100 Movers & Shakers (2025)” button to view that LG’s full 2025 Annual Performance Audit and see exactly which metrics earned that LG Decathlon points.

How to verify your stats:

  1. Visit your Top 100 HUB profile.
  2. Click the new button: “Top 100 Movers & Shakers (2025)”.
  3. Review your breakdown! You’ll see your rank in every metric and exactly where your points came from.

The 72-Hour Correction Window!

We want this list to be perfect before the 2025 Movers & Shakers badges are officially awarded by Google. Transparency is our priority. Please review your stats on the HUB. If you spot a data anomaly, a missing metric, or a username change that wasn’t captured, please comment below within the next 72 hours. Once this window closes, the Google team will notify the official badge honors.

:open_book: README: Understanding the 2025 Decathlon Data

To ensure total transparency, here is a breakdown of how your 2025 performance was calculated and how it differs from previous years.

1. The Two Pillars of Growth

  • Movers (Absolute Delta): This is the traditional “raw volume” increase. We calculate the difference between your January 1st, 2025 stats and your December 31st, 2025 stats.

  • Shakers (Percentage Growth): This measures the velocity of your growth. It is the percentage increase of your stats over the year, rewarding those who are rapidly rising through the ranks.

2. The Decathlon Scoring Logic We tracked 19 different metrics (Photos, Reviews, Edits, etc.) across both Movers and Shakers, totaling 38 individual leaderboards.

  • Points are awarded only for placing in the Top 10 globally for any given metric.

  • The higher your rank (1st through 10th), the more points you earn toward your Decathlon total.

  • How the Decathlon Scores are Calculated: The Decathlon Score is the sum of points earned across all 38 individual leaderboards (19 Movers + 19 Shakers). To ensure only the most significant contributions are recognized, points are only awarded for a Top 10 global finish in any category:

Note: If you are tied for a position, the points for that rank are awarded to all tied participants. You can see your point “receipts” by clicking the 2025 Annual Performance Audit button on your HUB profile.

3. The “New Member” Adjustment Consistent with our goal of fairness, we have special logic for Local Guides who joined partway through 2025:

  • In these cases, the “Delta” and growth percentages are not calculated from January 1st. Instead, they are calculated from the first month of their activity in our system.

  • This ensures that a Local Guide joining in June is measured on their actual performance window, rather than being penalized for the months they weren’t yet active.

4. The Verification "Receipts If you want to see the exact breakdown of which metrics earned you points, click your username in the leaderboards. If you are a HUB member, you can access your 2025 Annual Performance Audit directly from your profile. Others visiting your HUB can also view your 2025 metrics breakdown.

5. Technical Transparency To support the 72-hour review period, the Annual Performance Audit includes a live Data Inspector.

  • How to use: Click any row in your audit table to see the raw v0 (Baseline) and v1 (Final) values used for the calculation.

  • Accuracy: All calculations for the 2025 Movers & Shakers leaderboards are performed against the data captured at 0545 on Saturday, January 3, 2026 (UTC).

  • New Members: For members who joined during the 2025 cycle, the baseline (v0) represents their very first captured data point.

Estaba esperando este reporte final the Movers & Shakers 2025, pero como siempre nos entregas mucho mas de lo que esperabamos.

Ahora toca revisar con detenimiento estos resultados para comprenderlos en su totalidad, jaja.

Apenas dí un vistazo rápido pero me emociona en particular encontrar en muy buenas posiciones a @efcxp :brazil: , a nuestro querido @TerryPG :canada: ; y sobre todo a mis amigos @cuicani :mexico: y @marcorp :peru: que apenas este año se incorporaron a esta iniciativa.

Thank you so much for the 4x Wow! It’s great to see that enthusiasm right out of the gate.

You hit the nail on the head regarding the avatar—the ‘Architect’ represents this new era of the Movers & Shakers. This year was all about moving beyond a single metric and building a complete ‘Decathlon’ system that gives a 360-degree view of growth. I’m glad you noticed the success of @efcxp, @TerryPG, @cuicani, and @marcorp; seeing those rising stars and new faces climb the ranks is exactly why the ‘Shakers’ metrics was introduced this year!

As for your P.D. 2… Yes! The 2026 tracking has actually already begun. The Decathlon is here to stay as our new gold standard for rewarding both high-volume contributors and high-growth stars.

Believe it or not, I’m just as surprised to see my own name on the Movers & Shakers boards this year! Like many, I actually missed out on the lists entirely in 2024. It just goes to show how much can change in a year of consistent contributing. With the new Decathlon system in place, it looks like I might even be lucky enough to join you in receiving a badge this year!

After facing many challenges over the years, I remained committed to consistent contributions. Seeing my name on the 2025 Master T100 Leaderboard as a Master Champion a great sense of pride and fulfillment. Grateful for the recognition and motivated to continue contributing with dedication.
