Celebrating the PRELIMINARY RESULTS: The 2025 Movers & Shakers Decathlon!

The results of our 12-month marathon are finally in!

For the past 6 years, our annual “Movers & Shakers” announcement focused almost exclusively on the Delta—identifying the “Movers” who added the highest absolute volume of contributions to the Map. This year, however, we wanted to evolve. We believe that explosive growth deserves as much credit as high volume. To achieve this, we are now celebrating both sides of the coin:

• The Movers: Those with the highest absolute growth (the raw numbers).
• The Shakers: Those with the highest percentage growth (the rising stars).

To crown our true champions, we have combined these two distinct paths through a new Decathlon Scoring System.

@AdamGT on 28th Jan made the results public. In ways more than one these results reflect all the contributions we made to make Google Map better and better. And as good headmaster he evaluated our nos transparently and with logic balancing both quantity and quality.

A total of 143 LGs made it to one or more list.

The Movers board with 86 LGs celebrates those with the highest absolute volume of contributions. @abermans with massive 44 leads this list. Happy to see my friends @Shalz and @TerryPG in top 10. So much to be inspired from their constributions. I was happy to see myself at No-70

The Shaker board with 100 LGs celebrates the fast-risers with the highest percentage of annual growth. Very dear friend and Delhi-NCR fellow LG @Ssiddharth2000 leads this table with massive 73 points.Like me he is explorer at heart and loves places connected with art and heritage. We are going on trips together for sure this year @Ssiddharth2000

I am placed at No-4. Looking forward to joining @Ssiddharth2000 at the podium in 2027!!

I was pleasantly surprised to see myself at NO-4. My performance has been duly recorded and “audited”

This audit report is extremely motivating to keep learning and keep making meaningful contributions.

I did some quick analysis and realized there are 38 LGs who made it to all the three lists

Giving me company here are 9 LGs from India.

The most satisying feedback came from the chief auditor and the headmaster himself

What can I say that hasn’t already been said @curatorofmemory. Congratulations on a great preliminary result for 2025. Moving the Movers & Shakers beyond absolute volume (Movers) to include high-velocity percentage growth (Shakers) this year was specifically done to level the playing field so that high-velocity growth is rewarded just as much as high-volume delta and has given Local Guides like yourself an opportunity to shine based on their current momentum rather than just their lifetime totals. Analyzing 19 different Maps metrics for both volume delta and velocity growth was equivalent to analyzing each Local Guide’s 2025 contributions across 38 leaderboards and just think, of those 38 you appear 24 times in the top 100 and 8 times in the top 10 with a massive growth achievement in captions, video impact and contribution edits.

Keep in mind that the results are preliminary but very soon will finalized.

ps: I recommend that you add your Brick in the Wall badge to your signature giving everyone much easier access to your profiles, Maps contributions and achievements.
