Hello dear friends,
This article is written based on the LGs’ meetup which was conducted on Saturday, the 30th of April at 4 pm IST at the Tamil Nadu Police Museum, Chennai. The first part of this post is available “Here”. I once again thank the hot Jose & all other LGs who were present during the meetup.
The Tamil Nadu Police Museum - Chennai
The Tamil Nadu Police Museum exhibits artefacts that are almost (up to) 2 centuries old. The artefacts were not purchased but, instead collected from various police stations. This museum is located in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.
Exhibits:
Paid Exhibits
There are two types of exhibits - artefacts that can be photographed freely and 3 items that need special tickets to capture - interesting….right?
- The most important one of these is the cabin which was used by the Police Commissioner. You can sit on the chair of the commissioner and capture photos. The ticket fee is INR 20.

Other Exhibits
Starting with the Guard of honour, there are many beautiful items/locations, which were a part of the Tamil Nadu police force.
The exhibits include a blue colour Plymouth Belvedere car parked on the porch, that was used by the various commissioners of police. There are other parade vehicles and patroling vehicles that include the Royal Enfield motorcycle, farthing bicycle, speed boat used by coastal police, the off-road vehicles used by Marine police etc. In the hall, we can explore different weapons used by the Police force. These include riot guns, tear gas guns, machine guns etc.
Other than these combat tools we can see musical instruments and costumes that were used for parades. Many other covetable collections are also exhibited, and worth seeing.
