#Photo Walk - The Tamil Nadu Police Museum & its ♿Accessibility - Chennai - Part 2/2

Caption: The Cover Photo - Facade of the Police Museum.

Hello dear friends,

This article is written based on the LGs’ meetup which was conducted on Saturday, the 30th of April at 4 pm IST at the Tamil Nadu Police Museum, Chennai. The first part of this post is available “Here”. I once again thank the hot Jose & all other LGs who were present during the meetup.

The Tamil Nadu Police Museum - Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Police Museum exhibits artefacts that are almost (up to) 2 centuries old. The artefacts were not purchased but, instead collected from various police stations. This museum is located in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

Exhibits:

Paid Exhibits

There are two types of exhibits - artefacts that can be photographed freely and 3 items that need special tickets to capture - interesting….right?

  1. The most important one of these is the cabin which was used by the Police Commissioner. You can sit on the chair of the commissioner and capture photos. The ticket fee is INR 20.

Photo - 1. Caption: Chamber of the Police Commissioner.

  1. The 2nd paid location is a jail cell from which you can capture your jailed photos - the fee is INR 10.

  1. The last comes a throne of swords - fee INR 10.

Other Exhibits

Starting with the Guard of honour, there are many beautiful items/locations, which were a part of the Tamil Nadu police force.

The exhibits include a blue colour Plymouth Belvedere car parked on the porch, that was used by the various commissioners of police. There are other parade vehicles and patroling vehicles that include the Royal Enfield motorcycle, farthing bicycle, speed boat used by coastal police, the off-road vehicles used by Marine police etc. In the hall, we can explore different weapons used by the Police force. These include riot guns, tear gas guns, machine guns etc.

Other than these combat tools we can see musical instruments and costumes that were used for parades. Many other covetable collections are also exhibited, and worth seeing.

Wow wow wow ! This is quite some interesting post thank you for tagging me. We might as well ask you to talk about photography on a meet-up someday. Your photography skills are great. You must have a very credible camera as well. Anyway we will see how to collaborate and have interactions in meet-up in the future I can learn alot from you. I can see you in white with the local guides, you look very nice and unique.

I like the place,so colourful and bright. I particularly like the throne of sword !!! It looks very powerful and dignified. I like the musical instruments as well because I like music. A nice post in general and I enjoyed it.

Cheers

Thank you so much for your immediate response, my very dear friend @SholaIB

Thanks for your compliments about my dress; from 2002 onwards, I adopted white & white - thanks again.

I started with my first camera in 1969. With the blessings from my dear & respected parents (they are no more, today), I could continue with photography and music as my hobbies, even today.

In fact, #TeamIndia has conducted a number of knowledge sharing Meetups on Photography and photography for Google Maps. Still we can do more.

This is one of my Pro cameras.

Ciao!
