Have you ever noticed something small during a visit that actually reflects a big sustainable idea?
Recently, while visiting a friend’s office SAI Branding | Digital Marketing Agency in Gandhinagar, I spotted something interesting on the table - eco-friendly tissues made from bamboo instead of regular paper tissues.
At first, it looked like a normal tissue pack. But when I looked closer, I noticed the words:
“No Trees Were Cut in the Making of These Tissues.”
That simple message immediately caught my attention.
Curious to know more, I checked the packaging and learned that these tissues are made from bamboo pulp, which is considered a more sustainable alternative to traditional wood-based tissues.
Bamboo is gaining popularity as an eco-friendly material because:
It grows very fast, making it highly renewable It requires less water and fewer chemicals compared to traditional paper production Many bamboo products are biodegradable and environmentally friendly
Interestingly, the pack also mentioned that these tissues are:
• Unbleached
• Chlorine-free
• Compostable in about 180 days
I also noticed that the tissues felt soft, strong even when damp, and safe for sensitive skin. It’s a good example of how sustainable products can still be practical for everyday use.
Before leaving, I couldn’t resist taking a quick photo with the pack near the office signage.
Small Choices, Big Impact
Seeing eco-friendly products like this being used in workplaces is encouraging. It shows that sustainability doesn’t always require big changes - sometimes it begins with small everyday decisions, even something as simple as the tissues we use.
This also reminds me of initiatives like #BagTheChange , where we encourage small sustainable habits in our daily lives.
Over to you, Local Guides!

“Sustainability often begins with the smallest choices.”
Last week I picked up bamboo tissue paper during grocery shopping because we go through tissues so often. Looks like it has now earned a permanent spot on our household essentials list.
Nice sharing @KetanChhaniyara

Awesome @KetanChhaniyara! I had never really seen bamboo tissues before. I usually use regular paper tissues since they are very commonly available, but I guess it’s time for me to switch to bamboo tissues.
By the way, I already use a bamboo toothbrush to contribute a little from my end.
Personally, I feel that slowly people are starting to realize the importance of sustainability. People like you who create such great awareness truly deserve appreciation.
Thank you for this wonderful post. I would love to read more from you.
Another Excellent post on Sustainability, dear @KetanChhaniyara
We also use Bamboo Tissues - it is really durable, soft and strong.
Fully agree with your points about Bamboo…

Haha @MayuriKubal, “Sustainability Champion” might be a bit too generous!
But I’m always happy to explore and share small eco-friendly swaps when I come across them.
Those biodegradable bowls and wooden spoons sound great, truly resonates with my Ditch the Plastic Spoon challenge too - and yes, they definitely make me go nom-nom !
Thank you so much for the kind words @Np45-Nirav !
“Brand Ambassador” might be a bit too much, but I’m glad these small observations resonate. If it encourages even a few more sustainable choices in our daily lives, that’s a great outcome.
Haha, thank you dear @Arati for such a thoughtful message!
And I must say, using a bamboo toothbrush already puts you ahead in the sustainability game. Looks like you’ve been quietly doing your bit!
If my post convinced you to try bamboo tissues as well, then I’ll happily take that as a small win. It’s really these little everyday swaps that slowly add up to something meaningful.
Appreciate your kind words and support, I’ll definitely keep sharing more such finds!
