I’ve been answering yes/no questions on places for dozen, if not hundred, times, but the score never gets updated and remains “0” so far.
What am I missing here?

According to your profile looks like you have Zero Answers and Three Fact Checked
It means that probably you answered to dozens of answers less than 24 hours ago. Points need at least 24 hours to be updated, and in the aict Finder badge they need at least a week for being counted.
You need to be patient, your badge will be updated soon.
Usually we use the label How-tos when we need help from the community. You can change the label by yourself simply editing your post. Press the three blue dots on your post then click on “edit”. Edit your post - Why and How To will help you.
