Nahargarh Fort - Night View - #monthlytopic January 2020

Hi friends,

Though I’m a bit late in posting my entry for the monthly topic, I was not able to resist and so writing here now. I hope @HiroyukiTakisawa will consider my post here.

Nahargarh Fort (Jaipur, India)

So, this is one of the best places in India to have a night view. The fort is present on the top of a hillock and the entire city is based around that hill - you can say in the valley area.

People come to this fort especially during evening to see the sunset and have a majestic night view of the entire city.

Nahargarh Fort

Here, I’m sharing the pictures of the night view of Jaipur city - during my visit to this place recently.

Hello @HiroyukiTakisawa ,

Thank you very much for considering this as a part of monthly topic post of January 2020.

Yes, you are right - the fort itself is also as much beautiful as the view of city from this place. Many tourists come to this city specially to see this fort.

Great shots @Tushar18 , it looks amazing with all the lights on. It reminds me of the times I have been flying over big cities at night.

How do you get all the way up to the fort? It seems like a long way to walk.

Hi @MortenSI ,

Thank you very much for the appreciation … :grinning:

There is an inclined road by which we can reach up to the top of this hill, where this fort is present. The road is neat & clean, and well-maintained by the tourism administration. You can walk also, if you want.

It seems like a long a tough walk all the way up there @Tushar18 , but no doubt the view will be worth it!

It kind of reminds me of the view from the Acropolis in Athens overlooking the city.

Hi @MortenSI ,

Yes, the walk up to this fort at the top is tiresome. That’s why many people opt to take vehicles there - the road is quite good and motorable. And the view is worth too !!!

The city view looks similar to that in Acropolis pictures. Thanks to you - I just knew about those structure, and didn’t know about those views. The roofs of houses look simply stunning. Undoubtedly, Greece is one among several countries worth visiting … :grinning:

I think a view can be extra breathtaking if the journey up took some effort. It feels like you’ve really earned it!

It really was an incredible view from up there @Tushar18 , If you’re interested I included a photo of the view in my Introduce Yourself post back in July.

Hi @MortenSI ,

I totally agree with your point. In India, we have a pilgrimage at a hill named Vaishno Devi - for which we have to climb up only through walk or by horses. Vehicles are not allowed on that road. The distance is around 8-9 miles and it feels really enthusiastic after reaching there. :grinning:

I saw your picture in the link given by you. The view of Acropolis is really amazing. It seems a bright sunny day out there. I hope you must have enjoyed there. Athens has a lot to offer to a tourist - I must say. I too want to go there sometime in future.

Thanks for sharing the post dear … :grinning:

It was a sunny day even though I actually went there in early December. I guess I was just really lucky with the weather.

I think Athens is one of my favorite big cities I’ve ever visited. I can spend hours everyday just walking around the city. If you visit outside of the high season like I did, there won’t be many tourists around which makes the experience even better.

Vaishno Devi looks amazing @Tushar18 , I would love to take on that challenge!

Hi @MortenSI ,

Athens is attractive for me because of its historical background - because I just love places associated with ancient histories. I’ve studied about Byzantine, Ottoman, and Roman Empires - and thus, visiting the sites where that history occurred feels amazing.

Here in India also, I love visiting the ancient cities - like Jaipur, Udaipur and Amritsar. Many like Varanasi and Madurai are yet to be discovered.

Thank you very much for guiding me about this place. I would also like to visit here in off-peak season, when crowd remains less. Exploring by walk is just amazing thing - makes us connected with the place … :grinning:

Yes, many people do take the challenge to climb up to Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. It is not that difficult …

Hi @Nyainurjanah ,

Thank you very much for your words. Yes, the city view looks much beautiful on a full moon day. I didn’t visit that time, but would go again on a full moon day some time in future … :grinning:

History is also the main reason I’ve visited cities like Athens and Rome @Tushar18 . I find it so fascinating that so much of the architecture and history has been preserved for us to see so many years later.

By the way if you ever plan to visit Rome, prepare yourself for mass tourism. I went there in April 2018 and was actually trying to visit just before the high season, but there were already people everywhere.

I would love to visit Rome again in the future but I will do it in the winter time for sure.

Thank you very much @MortenSI about guiding me about Rome. Yes, I have also noticed that mass tourism is becoming very common nowadays. Though it becomes little uncomfortable, but it’s a matter of pride that people are realizing the importance of these historic sites. :grinning:

It’s definitely a good business for the city of Rome, but I think it has become a bit too much for my taste.

I went to see the Trevi Fountain one day but it was so crowded that I could barely see the fountain let alone get close to it.

The next day I decided to get up very early in the morning and go there again. I reached the fountain around 4:30 AM and shared it with only a few other people. It was really nice to have it all to yourself and enjoy the silence.

Hi @MortenSI ,

I agree with you - I’ve also seen pictures of Trevi Fountain with huge number of tourists. This thing is happening with almost all iconic sites across the world - even the most famous Taj Mahal in India.

When I also visit tourist spots, I try to visit them at the off-timing. Also, I keep in mind about the possibility of getting mass tourists.

I’m really happy that travel & tourism industry is thriving day by day … :grinning:

It’s funny you should mention the Taj Mahal @Tushar18 , it’s one of those places I’ve been wanted to see forever.

But exactly this increase in tourism across the world is what keeps me from going. The Taj Mahal looks incredible from the photos I’ve seen but I’m afraid that my perfect image of it will be ruined if I visit and it’s overrun by tourists.
