Hello Local Guides!
Photography has always been one of my favourite parts of being a Local Guide. Over the years, I’ve tried to capture places not just as they look, but in a way that helps someone imagine actually being there.
Currently, I’ve contributed 5,200+ photos on Google Maps, with an incredible 87,657,943+ views. Looking back at these numbers is exciting, but behind every number is a place, a moment and a story.
My Most Viewed Capture — Monsoon Palace, Udaipur
My most-viewed photo is from the magnificent Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Monsoon Palace – Google Maps photo
This photograph has crossed 1.7 million views and remains one of my favourites. Instead of taking a typical landscape shot, I stepped back and used the palace’s traditional archway to frame the view, creating a beautiful “picture within a picture” effect. The contrast of the dark arch, blue sky, distant mountains, and people on the terrace adds depth and scale.
For me, a great Google Maps photo does more than show a destination—it helps people experience the place before they visit.
I shared the full story behind this capture here:

A Local Business Close to My Heart — Maruti Gujarati Thali
My second capture is from Maruti Gujarati Thali, a famous Gujarati restaurant.
Beyond historical monuments, I love highlighting incredible local food. Maruti Gujarati Thali is a famous spot serving an authentic, mouth-watering thali, and it holds a special place in my heart. Sharing this isn’t just about a meal—it’s about helping people discover a comforting, traditional dining experience. Supporting regional restaurants is one of the most rewarding parts of being a Local Guide.
