Caption: The Cover photo of Golden Pheasant.

Dear Friends,

A request - if you like the photos, can I request you to kindly TAG your friends, please? - let them also enjoy - right? - thanks for your favour.

This is a series of Photo Posts where I am going to introduce One animal in each post. Most of the photos are from different Zoos including Mysore Zoo, Vandaloor Zoo, Nandankanan Zoo etc. - in this post, let us discuss Golden and Rainbow Pheasant.

Have you ever captured any photos of Golden or Rainbow Pheasant? Can you give me company by publishing your shots?

Golden and Rainbow Pheasant

The Golden and Rainbow pheasant (scientific name: Chrysolophus pictus) is a well-known member of the pheasant species to which the peacock belongs. They are inhabitants of China’s west and central mountains. They belong to the Phasianidae family and their genus is Chrysolophus.

The male and female are very different in terms of their colour combination. The male pheasant is beautiful and has very bright feather colours but females are diminishing in colour. The male pheasants are larger than females and their tail has a length of double their body length. Males and females have an approximate average length of 100 cm and 70 cm respectively.

The Golden pheasant is least concerned according to the IUCN Red List.

As an LG Photographer, I have spotted Pheasants in Mysore Zoo Here.

Photo - 10. Caption: A walking Yellow Golden Pheasant. (A tricky photo for - the background and foreground are blurred & the object is in focus = depth of field is ‘Shallow’. Used higher shutter speed as the object is walking).

These are so amazingly beautiful birds - a gift from nature.

I had seen similar colorful parrots in the Bannerghatta zoo in Bengaluru.

They have a nice collection too.

Your photos bring out the beauty of these creatures to their best @TravellerG

Hello, dear friend @Sophia_Cambodia

Thanks for bringing to my notice… Yes, there are no female birds in the past - sorry…

Incidentally, Almighty has created most of the male beings are more beautiful… Right?.

I shall surely search and post, later…

Hello friend, @TusharSuradkar

"…seen similar colourful parrots in the Bannerghatta zoo…

They have a nice collection too.

In Bannerghatta Zoo, the problem is that the MESH is too small for shooting without the mesh (net) being visible.

Whereas in Mysore zoo & in Karanji Lake zoo (Mysore), we have more flexibility.

I have tried to avoid the mesh (of the cage) in maximum all shots - hope you have noticed.

Kindly see this…

Hope you will like it; I invite our @NareshDarji also to view this shot.

Thanks
