It was exactly a year ago that I joined the wonderful Connect community of LGs. Many thanks to @ShreyaMusings and @Ssiddharth2000 for organizing the mega Delhi meetup which motivated me to join the community. It was three years after I became a LG that I finally joined the Connect platform
And what an incredible year it has been…
Twenty badges in a single year.
When I pause and let that number sink in, I won’t lie — it takes my breath away a little. There were moments of doubt, late nights, and challenges that made me question whether I could keep going. But something deeper kept pulling me forward — a genuine love for this platform and an unrelenting desire to contribute something meaningful.
It wasn’t just persistence. It was purpose.
And now, as I stand on the threshold of my third anniversary as an LG, I carry with me not just 20 badges — but 20 stories of growth, learning, and connection. Two more are on the horizon, and I’m walking toward them with the same fire that started this journey.
But here’s the truth I cannot overlook — none of this would have been possible without this incredible community. Every word of encouragement, every piece of constructive feedback, every moment someone took the time to acknowledge my work — it mattered more than you know. You were the wind beneath this journey, and I am deeply, genuinely grateful.
These badges are mine in name, but they belong to all of us in spirit. Thank you — from the bottom of my heart — for making me feel seen, supported, and inspired every single step of the way.
350 posts in 365 days
This again is a feat I never dreamt was possible when I wrote my first post on 5th May.
It was that of a complete novice—simple, unpolished, and unsure. It can be read here. I wrote the 50th post on 21st July, 2025 which can be read here. I wrote my 100th post on 24th August, 2025 which can be read here. I wrote my 150th post on 9th October, 2025 which can be read here. I wrote my 200th post on 18th December 2025 which can be read here. I wrote my 250th post on 5th February 2026 which can be read here. I wrote my 300th post on 27th March 2026 which can be read here. I wrote my 350th post yesterday which can be read here
Committing to writing 350 posts in 365 days was no small feat — there were days when ideas felt elusive, energy ran low, and the pressure of maintaining quality made the task feel overwhelming. Every post had to be more than just words; it needed to be visually compelling, thoughtfully crafted, and engaging enough to stop someone mid-scroll. Finding that creative spark day after day, through busy schedules, mental fatigue, and the occasional self-doubt, demanded a level of discipline that pushed well beyond comfort zones. What made it possible, more than anything, was the community. Every comment, reaction, and shared thought was a reminder that the work was resonating — that real people were reading, relating, and responding. That feedback became the fuel that turned a personal challenge into a deeply rewarding journey.
7 Challenges and 6 meet ups organised
I organised 7 interesting challenges over the course of the year, all of which have seen good participation.
I could also successfully organise 6 meetups in the year
Engagement with the community
I participated in number of challenges organised by the community in India and in other countries by LGs and took part in several physical and virtual meetups and was the key lead for the India community spotlight series, an initiative championed by @AdrianLunsong
My entry in two of the three Challenges in the year was featured
Challenge: Review a dog-friendly place on Google Maps to win a Connect badge
Challenge: Create a “Local Heroines” list on Google Maps to win a Connect badge
Two of my lists also made it to the final list on Google maps for How to support major sports events - Plus: An IPL challenge for India!
Having my entry featured in the various challenges has been one of the most deeply fulfilling experiences — it ignites a fire within me and fills my heart with an overwhelming sense of pride and purpose. That recognition means the world to me, pushing me to pour even more passion and dedication into every contribution I make. It’s not just motivation; it’s the fuel that keeps my spirit alive and my commitment unwavering.
An invite to the Google Ananta office for being among the Top 100 creators in Spotted on Shorts was another highlight
Receiving an invitation to Connect Live '26 in Singapore stands as the greatest validation of every late night, every effort, and every ounce of dedication poured into this work. It’s also a reminder that the journey doesn’t stop here — if anything, it deepens the responsibility to keep showing up, keep contributing, and keep making a meaningful difference to the community.
