Inaugurated eight months before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Museum of Tomorrow designed by Santiago Calatrava is part of the Porto Maravilha urban project, which is changing the face of the city, with local museums, the Olympic Boulevard, Eduardo Kobra’s murals and the picturesque Guanabara Bay forming a unique and lively backdrop.
The museum is located in the newly renovated Port Zone in the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro. It offers free admission on Tuesdays, with the caveat that queues to enter the museum can be long but the wait is worth it. Tickets can be bought at the door or online.
