More transparency for your edits on Google Maps

Your edits help make sure businesses, parks, roads, and more have the correct information and can be easily found on Google Maps. Those contributions help people discover the things worth doing (and the best way to get there).

We appreciate the time and effort you put into edits, and today we’re happy to share that the edits list in your profile now shows more information:

A reminder of what you submitted

For name, category and phone number edits, you can now see the change you suggested.

An explanation of what’s happening

Check this line for a more descriptive explanation of the status of your edit.

The impact of places you’ve added

You may be surprised how many people have viewed the new pizza shop or cafe you added to Maps. Browse the edits list in your profile and look for view counts on the places you added.

The date your edit was submitted

We make a decision on 80% of edits submitted within three days. However, some edits can remain pending for up to 90 days while we collect feedback from the Local Guides community. With the date now visible, it will help you to get an idea of when you can expect your edit to be reviewed.

Whether your edit included photos

Adding photos helps Google verify your edit. You can now see which of your edits included photos.

Check out the changes and let us know what you think! Please note that some of these improvements are rolling out over the next week. Tell us in the comments below how we can continue to make your edit experience on Maps better.

Hi @Brad_W ,

The one thing I observed that the new place creations is now easy and my edit of place creations is 90-95% published immediately on Google map

Thanks for sharing we have been facing many issues for pending approvals and edits

I would just like to ask if we can get the reason why an edit of a particular place is not getting approved even after adding photos and doing it by being at the location.

This will help Fellow LGs who are trying to improve Maps and add information about new/ changed places

@Brad_W Thanks for the additions.

Why can’t we see approved edits for closed businesses?

Thank you @Brad_W for sharing with us such a valuable post.

I would like to add something, I have reported many photos, from multiple point of interests, as " not photo of the place", but most of those pictures still appear, even after many days of my report.

This is a great improvement, it will increase the motivation. However, There are a few places which are still improving. Less the type of facility categories, and can not be determined in trouble. If editable in the other, and resolve.

I have the expanded view already. I’ve found it of little use. It will continue to take a lot of work to figure these out.
