Thanks @Brad_W for moved a step forward ,A process should be definitely continued but still need some improvements specially when you are 10000% sure about your edits but declined It happens lot of time with me in Pakistan a lot of places added 2 time , 3 time And even 4 times over years and all different names for same places has pictures and reviews so no way to approve this edit I can give lot of examples

Thanks @FalguniP to highlight a genuine issue I also facing same problem But answer of your question is very simple Google couldn’t verify your edit But I think actually what happens Google asked those people which actually don’t know the place very well

I personally think this is. Welcomed development that will help local guides keep track of their edits contributions just like reviews and photos. Thumbs up for this initiative. And thanks for sharing @Brad_W

@Brad_W That’s great. Addition to that for not approved things reverse reply local guide should receive which will tell us the reason for not approved things.

I love this! It makes adding edits to Google Maps easier to keep track of especially when you are waiting for the edits to be approved before you can add your reviews/photos. So glad this new feature has been added!

Will it also show the reason on why some edits don’t get approval? Thanks.

Thanks @Brad_W

I thought I’ve already seen these changes a few days ago.

I appreciate the additional info.

However, I wish there is a text field to enter any comments. For example, there were two duplicate places with very similar names. I included a photo with the exact them the vendor is using and said that the place with the “wrong” name be closed as a duplicate of the one with the “correct” name. It came back as “Google couldn’t verify your edit.”

@Brad_W thanks for the new information.

Great news , even better improvement , I personally think that the three editions status (APPROVED, DIDN’T APPROVED and PENDING) would be better in different colors. In order to visually identify the different status.

Regards!

@Muhammad_Usman thanks your support.

The only message we get "Google could not verify " can be added with some points as to what all we can do so that it gets verified

at least Google maps

should have some key points as to how we

Add/ Edit place using the steps which will avoid the verification process being so long.

Cause there are some places which really need to be edited / added to avoid misleading the Google Maps users.

@Brad_W I really like the fact that more info is now given in that list of edits. The only thing I personally do not consider to be an improvement is the fact that when a Pending goes to Approved, it no longer jumps to the top of the list, but rather remain at its original position in the list and has the status label changed (a change of the sorting order from ‘modified on’ to ‘created on’ as far as I can tell).

For high-volume editors like myself (if you heard the story about the local guide getting a shout out at Connect Live 2019 for having made 20K edits
 that was me :wink: ) this is making it harder to figure out when Pending edits get approved or denied.

even after being at the location taking pictures there and submitting, also showing the duplicate which exists the edits are not getting applied.

There is a Temple which is wrongly named as

Civil works and furniture works contract.

Also tried to add name of a movie theater

which is mistakenly renames as “.” (Just a dot)

the approval is pending since 2 months.

Trying to delete Spam and duplicate places but that too is taking a lot of time for approval or it just shows google cannot Verify.

Is there any way where we an get the reason for non approval or just get steps to follow so that we can verify the edits quickly

@SUMEET1 @Muhammad_Usman

Tagging you both since we are facing similar issues

This is awesome! This is exactly What i have sometimes wondered and expected to see one day in the profile section including date in the pictures section. Yes, dates that pictures are submitted. Because some pictures has more views than much older ones in the list, hence for comparison sake, or for fun date feature will be great too in the picture section.

Thank you so much @Brad_W for this great update. I hope to see more of such updates
