“Me too” - Raise your hand to add yourself in reporting a problem

Today we had some great surprises in Connect, especially in Google Maps tips & tricks - Local Guides Connect.

Me Too - I am also experiencing this issue

This is the most important change: If someone reports an issue, you don’t need to report it again. You just need to press the Me too button, to raise your hand and inform the team that you have the same issue.

This will simplify the post, informing Google about the number of Local Guides that are affected by the issue.

The thread will be shorter, because we don’t need to write to add our experience, and more impactful.

Once you click the button the counter will increase by 1. if you pressed it wrongly, just press it again

Nice, isn’t it?

• More visibility about how many people is reporting

Of course we had some other change.

The other one, hopefully temporary, @AngieYC , is that the preview disappeared.

Thank you, @ErmesT, for sharing this! “Me too” was also visible on my post, but when I tapped on it, nothing happened—or rather, it seemed that my tap wasn’t being accepted.

Now, thanks to your post, it’s clear to me that others will be able to tap it and the count will increase. I happily tapped on this post too, and wow! I’m happy to see my count there, as I was the first one to tap.

I also noticed this feature yesterday evening. @ErmesT As far as I remember, about two years ago, there was an interview with backend engineers on Connect, discussing something similar to emoji/signs. That interview was probably published by Googlers.

I think the feature we’re seeing now could be an expanded and updated version of that concept. It’s starting to feel a bit like social media—where interaction and engagement are increasing not just through locations and reviews on Maps, but also through visual and emoji-based expressions.

I can see the new kind of likes in many, if not all other posts, but “Me Too” is visible only a few times. Does it appear only for certain categories or only for topics created since yesterday?
