Mansoon heven spot Ramling palsambe ,Gaganbawda

Gaganbawda is the best place in Mansoon.
When we think of the monsoon season, the mind instantly fills with images of rain-soaked roads, dense greenery, and gurgling streams, all of which are a treat to the eyes. But when all of this is wrapped in a blanket of milky white fog, the experience becomes even more magical.

As you travel from Kolhapur towards Ratnagiri, you come across a high-altitude, cool-weather place called Gaganbawda. In this region lies a spot named Ramling palsambe, where water from a great height cascades down as a waterfall, carving its way through the hills and flowing further as a large stream. Near Ramling, there are a few small caves located on the opposite side of the waterfall. Right in the middle, there’s a large rock, which is believed to have been touched by Lord Rama. It is said that his footprints were imprinted there, forming a lotus-shaped mark that has now been painted, making it look even more attractive.

During the monsoon, the roar of the water at Ramling is deafening, breaking the silence with its thundering flow. This place is breathtakingly beautiful and draws large crowds. Though it’s slightly off the main route, the peace and tranquility that one experiences here is unmatched.

As you move from Ramling towards Gaganbawda, you’ll notice the area getting covered in a dense sheet of fog. Sometimes, the fog is so thick that the road ahead becomes completely invisible.

Gaganbawda has other attractions too, one of which is the Wada (mansion) of the Amatya Bawdekar family. This is also a scenic place, located a little further ahead. A river flows near this wada, and accommodation is available here as well. The mansion houses many ancient artifacts that have been well-preserved for visitors to see. Several films have been shot at this location due to its unique old-world charm.

Moving further ahead from Gaganbawda, one comes across Gagangad, a steep fort that offers a spectacular view after a tough climb. Gaganbawda also has several hotels where visitors can find good food and refreshments.

In summary, the region around Gaganbawda, especially Ramling and its surroundings, offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, spiritual significance, and historical richness — making it a must-visit destination during the monsoon

We’d passed through this spot several times on our way to Goa. Gaganbawda is the most picturesque location on the route; I must agree with this.

@DurgaK03 , one more addition to your mansoon collection.

Cheers!

Tranquil, serene and adventurous. Perfect spot for monsoon getaway. The pictures are amazing. I’m uniquely intrigued by the Gagangad Fort. Is it accessible for tourists? Is there a hike involved? Gaganwada looks so beautiful. And I loved the waterfall. Thanks for this amazing post @Supriyadevkar

Yes dada gagangad is the one of the difficult to walk.steps are available but very high and big.but when we are at the top that time we feel like we are in heven.
