Madang - Papua New Guinea

Madang Town, is the main town of Madang Province in Papua New Guinea where the famous Kalibobo Lighthouse (watch-tower) stands out overlooking the sea. This is the landmark to signify and remember those who fought alongside the Allied Forces during WW2. Madang Province is situated to the north of Papua New Guinea facing the Bismark Sea and is a major tourist destination. The Madang Resort Hotel provides the best accomodation for visitors and is close to the famous Kalibobo Lighthouse as well. To get there is easy, once you arrive at Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby, you can transit and fly on Air Niugini for a one hour trip over to Beautiful Madang, as they commonly call it.

Hi Giu,

Thanks for the headsup - I lived in Madang all my life growing up and attending Primary School. Yes, I will replace that photo with another one.

Best regards

Hi! This question doesn’t belong here specifically, but I’d like to know more about Papua New Guinea. I’m curious as to why there are no street photos in the country?
