ErmesT, well, just went back into my account and all has been restored to proper points & level. I don’t know if you had anything to do with it but thanks to y’all for being there. Maybe it was just a “glitch”.

Hopefully it will correct itself. … right said @Rednewt74 i faced this type of issue but I recovered all my hard earned points after few hours, it seems technical error

I am wondering what happened all of a sudden that my profile points are reduced by over 2000 in a day. I always add original feedback and media to Maps so I don’t see a possible reason for it. Is there a way to know if this is a glitch or why exactly my points are reduced?

Please do not mix different issues on the same post, because it would be difficult to understand what has been fixed and what still be an open issue.
Regarding your points, I see that your photos are visible again.
Are the points back too?
Regarding the roads, can you kindly write a separate post providing some additional details, including a link to the Location?

If you have not deleted any reviews and/or photos, most likely your points will get re-instated as it had happened with other LGs as well. You can see here the points were re-instated. There could be some technical glitch which can be sorted out in few hours or in couple of days.
There could be a possibility of Points getting deducted if your contribution is determined to be in violation of content policy. Contributions that violate policies do not count toward your Local Guides level as well.
Please move your post to ‘How-tos’ board.

I can post it as a separate issue. Only reason I posted it here was I thought it was tied to the point loss. But yes, my points are back now. They came back late yesterday. The missing roads issue is still there, so I’ll start a new post.

I, Vishnudev. V. S was a Level 9 Local Guide having points more than 51000 till yesterday. But from yesterday evening, my points drastically changed to 22620 (Lost more than 29000 points) and my level dropped to 8th. I haven’t done anything against the terms and conditions and didn’t violate any rules laid down by Google. I don’t know how and why this happened. This is very pathetic for me… and makes me very sad and unhappy. Each point is earned by contributing to the community. Please resolve this issue, return back my points and regain me the Level 9 Local Guide .

Others with the same problem have reported that their points have returned. So please give it a few days and report back should your points not return.

@Vikramajeet I am not disagreeing with @Kumaarsantosh , there is a possibility, that sometimes it happens due to technical issues, wait a day and see, I hope you get back the points. How-tos is a better board for posting this type of post.

I lost near 10.000 point and one Level, too. Whats the Issue for this? Technical?

Thank you for tagging me dear @PrasadVR & yes @Vikramajeet Google’s advance version Bard tools is still at the experimental stage as per my knowledge, it has some terms, due to which this problem may have occurred. You can tag this to Googler or complain to Google support, please I believe that this reply as a “solution” will help other local guides to solve similar problem.

As many said, the issue seems to be already fixed for several people, so I think we should wait.
If you want to help more, can you kindly tell us “where” are the points missing?
I mean, according to what we see on your contribution list, your actual points are in line with what we see.
It means that some of your contribution is missing. Can you tell us where? Reviews, photos, or what?
Regarding your last note, we add contents about the places that we visit, we don’t go to a restaurant to take photos and write a review, don’t you agree?

I have the same question , I spended a lot of time to deal with this problem and wirte eamil to they , I just say they didnot care about your question and your point cannot reply .its a poor system. donot waste your time. I am victim of this system.
