Great to hear that you find the campaing/tips useful @ADRIGUES . Best of luck in cleaning up your area!
@JanVanHaver I like your initiative and I want to do active participation in your agenda. Please include me.
Great to have you on board @ShakilAK ! You can take part by simply testing out the tips listed in your area and then write a post here on Connect about your experience in doing so. Or perhaps you can host a #LGCTM Meetup? That would be very exciting.
Good luck!

A Meetup sounds much more intimidating than it is @ShakilAK Here is a post with some
Hi @naima4u ,
Please keep in mind that it may take some time for the fake locations to be removed. Our responsible team is looking into it. Thank you.
Hello
I can understand that āit may take some time for the fake locations to be removed. Our responsible team is looking into itā when itās Ć fake.
But when to update a shop declared close by the owner, identified, since october and still described as open for everyone exept me⦠Iāve the message āYouāre proposal of modification isā¦ā Iāve a doubt about your faculty to Clean The Map.
Sorry but Iām speaking about Bialetti shop in Levallois which is one of the 3 modifications I cant help to go ahead.
Best regards.
Thanks @JanVanHaver - I have spent several days in the past cleaning up maps, and itās nice to see this is more recognised and appreciated now. When I first started reporting spam reviews, places etc, I worried that I would get a black mark myself (as it would look I was working against the community), but some were just far too obvious and bad to ignore.
@Lia_T I have not come across any reports about local guides facing negative consequences when making genuine reports/edits about stuff that does not belong on the map, so I would say: no holding back, full force ahead
I came across duplicates several time and reported them, as well as inappropriate photos. In some cases, the problem was not solved even in several months despite repeated reporting.
Maybe I was missing something. Iāll try to familiarize with the materials listed in your topic, but it needs much time, which I constantly lackā¦
Hello, @JanVanHaver !
Thank you so much for this post. Iāve been thinking about the same lately. We have so much places left undeleted in the Dominican Republic and itās so much hard work since not a lot of us take the time to do something about it when using Google Maps. Iād like to join this initiative and would be more than welcome to be of any help from here (or any time I get to travel). Keep up the good work!
Bright initiative, best of luck, @JanVanHaver Iām in and willing to share true and accurate information on google maps. Love and light

Hi @JanVanHaver
How do we search for places with no category assigned? If we knew how to do that it would open a whole new strategy for cleaning the map.
Iām aware of how we can select category under Check the facts but that is limited to places that someone else suggested a new category for.
I tried searching for āPoint of interestā to no avail.
Cheers
@MortenCopenhagen you need to use Uncover missing info, not Check the facts. The trick there is to zoom until you see a part of a town, filling the screen with loads of orange markers. Then, in the bar on top of the screen, where are the types of info are listed as grey buttons, click ācategoryā to leave only those on the screen that are missing a category.
It is working, @JanVanHaver .
Thanks a million. Maybe we need another tips and tricks post on this.
