I got a mail saying that I have unlocked a special reward, a limited edition Google Maps Pin, with a redemption code. On clicking Redeem, it is getting redirected to another site outside Google.
Is the mail genuine? If yes, why am I not able to see any information about it on Google Maps App?
Google uses an outside firm to ship the rewards. As many others are reporting getting the same email these days, I believe you can safely go a read and redeem your perk. Congratulations.

@Chandni Just want to add, currently Local Guides use Brand Addition as vendor for perks, so if you got redirected to that page, then it’s legit.
But thanks for asking when you’re unsure. There are so many scams these days it’s always good to be cautious.

@Chandni For these kind of perks is more of an independent thing and was never really included in the Google Maps profile. There are a few people experiencing the same about confirmation email not showing up. The team is aware of it and investigating. You can try claiming the perk again, and if it says that the code has been used, then that means you successfully submitted the order.

Yes, this mail is genuine. Once you click on the link using the redemption code, you need to provide your shipping address. Usually the gift gets delivered within 2 to 3 weeks.

How we get the pin by courier or by post?
i got the conformation mail, but unable to understand the reason, i means what i did so special except reviewing the places, on the same time i am super exited to see it.
It has been 10 days for me since I redeemed the award a few minutes later I got a confirmation email. Now 10 days later should I have got shipping details or a tracking number because I have not gotten any more emails from Google Local Guides since 10 days ago.
Hi, I have got special reward ‘Google Maps Pin’, Redeemed but order was not delivered. Requested replacement order and that was also not delivered!! I have got multiple rewards from google so far but none have been delivered! Didn’t expect this kind of service from Google.

First of all congratulations on receiving emailers for multiple rewards from Google. You must be the chosen one. Very few gets multiple rewards from Google.
I have been associated and contributing since last seven years for now and have received just one reward this year as Google Map Pin.
Now that is not the only reason why I contribute but it is my passion and interest which keep me motivated to work and contribute for Google Map. It gives me inner satisfaction that somehow in some way I am at least contributing to the community across the globe.
Having said that nobody can defy that reward boosts our level up and hence getting rewarded is always pleasing. Since the issue is happening with you repeatedly of reward not getting delivered to you, I suggest the below mentioned steps to verify at your end:
Check your profile data and validate email id.
When you get the reward emailer from Google, make sure that you are entering the correct postal address with the Pin Code.
Enquire with your local postman about such parcels and also check their serviceability for your location. Sometimes they refuse to deliver Google pots/parcels. Reasons not known. It happened with me for some communication from Google.
Since such parcels route through international channel at times Postman may delay the delivery.
In general, whenever Google ships any parcels, an email is received with the shipping details. You can verify that shipping details as well at the local Post Office.

Hy i am also a local guide in google maps i has been working hard and contributing alot in gmap.first at all i also has been a doubt why i doesnt receiveing the pin but after some pesense and alot contribution i has been received it.so keep pesense
