Leo the Lion Guarding MGM Grand Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas

Anyone walking causally on the streets of Las Vegas cannot miss the grand golden-brass Lion at one of the prominent intersections.

This lion is fondly called ‘Leo - The Lion King’ and is a popular photo point in Las Vegas.

Though this statue is located high up on a platform.

So, the best place to view it clearly is via the foot over bridge.

Here is another entrance to MGM Grand Casino from the south side.

It has both a staircase and an escalator.

Here’s the Golden Lion as seen from the bridge.

This is the view of the street as seen from the feet of the Lion Statue.

In the opposite corner is the Excalibur Casino and on the far left is hotel Mandalay Bay.

Here’s another view of the MGM Grand resort and casino from the Southeast side.

This is the glittering entrance from the south side of MG M Grand Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Make sure you carry a lot of money since everything out here is 2x or 3x more costly than elsewhere.

Inside the MGM Grand Casino is even more gold and glitter.

Here’s the shining and highly illuminated front desk of the MGM Casino and Hotel.

I could not resist taking another photo of the golden canopy ceiling under which people from all over the world enjoyed gambling and casinos betting.

@TusharSuradkar @A very nice tour of the MGM Grand. I really enjoyed going there in the 90s-2000s when they still had live lions in a huge glass-enclosed habitat. I also like all of the classic Hollywood details throughout the place, especially the art-deco plaster medallions along the ledges of the main mezzanine. One of the first major casinos of the Strip’s modern “themed” renaissance. Well done!

Real lions in a casino jungle located in an arid desert land must been quite an amusement @MattGatlin something that only AI can imagine today.

Thanks for sharing those memories. I’d appreciate it if you could also share any photos from the old Las Vegas - no hurries though.

@TusharSuradkar loved your post about the iconic Leo the Lion at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas! Knowing the best spots for viewing and capturing Leo in all his golden glory is great. Also, the tip about the foot over the bridge for a clearer view is helpful for first-time visitors.
