Lapangan Banteng Jakarta, One of the best Fountains In Indonesia. Also, this is one of Indonesia’s most historic parks that I have visited during my five days vacation. It was a magnificent experience for me.
Lapangan Banteng is located close to Jakarta Cathedral and Istiqlal Grand Mosque. It is a historic landmark that has been around since Dutch colonial rule. Before the renovation which cost up to Rp 60 billion (US$4.14 million), Lapangan Banteng was rarely visited by people except when it hosted events. A semi-circular amphitheater, facing the monument, sits next to a pond where a fountain “dances” to the sound of music.
During my visit, Jakarta Local Guide @Ddimitra explained to me that the songs during fountain dance represented Irian Jaya’s liberation as well as Indonesia’s nationalism and cultural richness. collaborated with the Embryonic Ensemble to rearrange the songs, creating music that doesn’t lose its traditional characteristics, but at the same time sounds fresh with a touch of jazz that was truly enjoyable.

Taman Lapangan Banteng Park Information
Taman Lapangan Banteng is divided into three main sections:
-
A recreational park with the West Irian Liberation Monument
-
A running track
-
A football field and a children’s playground
-
And the best part is the fountain display that started at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. every weekend.
-
Family and Kids friendly environment.
When we entered the Taman Lapangan Banteng we passed some security near the entrance. The security personnel doesn’t do much other than watch over the parked motos in the parking area.
Then we walked around and took some photos of Taman Lapangan Banteng. In the evening we started seeing a different view of Taman Lapangan Banteng. What an amazing and unforgettable view that can’t explain through words and I would like to give some advice to my fellow Local Guides friends who going to visit Taman Lapangan Banteng he can possible to take photos of the following points of interest as a walk around the park:
- West Irian Liberation Monument
- Monas
- Istiqlal Mosque
- Jakarta Cathedral
It’s rare to find a place with so many sights nearby in Jakarta. So bring your camera along and make the most of it! And finally, I would like to say thanks to Jakarta Local Guide @Ddimitra and @Radjasitanggang who accompanied me during my Jakarta tour.
