Lack of road

Unable to get directions. There should be a continuation of the road here: 49.9943580, 36.3212427 And also here: 49.9941970, 36.3198761

Hi @Anton3351608

Welcome to Connect.

Maybe @MarcoDavoli would be able to advise you on this.

When sharing a location on Maps, please drop a pin (long press) and then share the link to the dropped pin. This makes it easier to help you compared to sharing a set og short GPS coordinates.

Cheers

Welcome to Connect @Anton3351608
As far as I can see there are 3 pending edit on the first position you added, related probably to a name addition, as the road in there do exist already, and 3 on the second position: 2 on June 30 and 1 on July 5.
Adding the same road more than once doesn’t help to have it approved.

The approval of an edit related to a missing road may takes up to 90 days, while a name is normally accepted only if there is a clear evidence about it. In any case the lack of a name doesn’t affect navigation.

Ciao @Anton3351608 ,

I saw 2 small problems at the coordinates you gave us.

  1. Look at this screenshot

You are editing (modify) a road that, IMHO is wrong. I’m sure that you can drive with your car on the grass on move from one position to the other but… it does not looks to be a road.

  2. Other picture

This is a “Classic!!” No panic, it is OK.
This usually happens when you are adding a road, the system is slow, you start adding a new roads and you draw again in the same position.
The system will record 2 new roads (and you see them) but, at the end, will approve only one and reject the other

If you have a look here:

If you zoom out you see your edits with the double “dotted orange lines” but as you zoom in the one on the right has been approved.
In the next days it also disappear the “orange shadow” under the new road you have created.

Anyway, I saw that you already have 4 roads approved, so you will understood that the approval process is really low. BTW in these days is close to zero…

Let me know

Ah, why you do not join the “roaders team”? A group of roads enthusiast of editing roads. you can reach at www.roadesr.club
If you are interested I can send you more info.

Take care

@MortenCopenhagen Thanks for the tag. Ciao

I’m interested in road editing. How can I get involved?

Hi Anton,

What fantastic news! I am truly thrilled to hear that you want to join the “best of the best” when it comes to road editing enthusiasts.
Shola, myself, and all the Roaders are absolutely delighted to welcome you to the group!

To get you started, let me tell you a little bit about who we are and what we do.
Back in March 2023, our “Captain,” Mr. Shola, had the brilliant idea to bring together road editing enthusiasts by creating a special “campaign” focused primarily on improving road networks on Google Maps, prioritizing this over uploading photos or writing reviews.

He called it TRAC (Thousand Roads Adding Campaign). It is a “non-competitive campaign” (we really like to emphasize that it’s not a competition!) that runs every year from March 1st to May 31st.
During this time, we often meet on our Telegram group to discuss techniques, share ideas, and trade those “pro tips” that are essential for mapping roads like a pro.
(we hope to have soon a dedicated area into our forum Connect)

I highly recommend you check out this post; it’s a goldmine containing everything you need to know about TRAC: Index Page for TRAC.

We also frequently organize virtual meet-ups where we get together face-to-face to dive deep into various techniques.

I know our Captain is already organizing a new event soon where we’ll discuss how to add roads under bridges. (Shola, could you please keep Anton in the loop for the next virtual meet-up? Thanks!)

Start reading through that post, and whenever you can, come say hi. We look forward to having you on board!

You can also have a look at the “house of the Roaders” where we collect all the figures regarding what we are doing.

Also check my post about TRAC like this one You’ll have also an idea about our badges

See you soon, and remember that “doing roads” your score will boost and in a really short time you’ll hit the 10th level

Take care and enjoy

Marco
