Knowing Delhi, like Never Before! ⭐

Some journeys leave a memory in your heart not because of the places you visit, but because of the incredible people who welcome you with open hearts. Travelling from Kerala to Delhi is a long two-day train journey across India. @SarathUpendran and I started our journey on August 12th, 2026 and reached Delhi on August 14th, 2026. We had both visited Delhi before, but this trip felt completely different. The city welcomed us with open arms & the warmth of the Local Guides community showed us a side of Delhi we had never experienced before.

The journey began with an evening “Ice Party ” hosted by @SonamW to welcome visiting local guides. The atmosphere was calm, warm & friendly. We spent the evening exchanging gifts , sharing homemade sweets & filling the room with nonstop laughter . It was also wonderful looking back at all the good memories from the Kochi Mega Meetup, reminiscing about the fun times while making brand-new ones together. We stayed at Hotel Vedas Heritage along with @AjitThite and @TravellerG making every day feel special with shared stories , food discoveries & taking cabs to historic spots and hidden gems .

On August 15th, @Manishhh took us to Omaxe Mall and its beautiful Starbucks store. We enjoyed great food , delicious coffee & the simple joy of spending time together. Later, we joined the meetup hosted by Manish at the historic Qutub Minar, where we met active and inspiring Local Guides including @curatorofmemory, @Shalz & many others.

The next day, Sonam took TravellerG, Ajit, Sarath & me to Dasaprakash Restaurant in Connaught Place. We enjoyed a wonderful spread of refreshing vegetarian dishes. Afterward, we visited Lodhi Garden to explore and meet more community members. It was great connecting with @Nomad_Enkay, @Raj_Tayade, @ShreyaMusings & @Ssiddharth2000 amidst the greenery and heritage monuments.

Leaving Lodhi Garden, our group had grown to about 10 Local Guides & we headed toward Khan Market. We needed a coffee spot that could comfortably seat all of us together. That is when Google Maps reviews and “Ask Maps” came to our rescue, helping us quickly find a spacious Starbucks nearby with enough room for everyone.

On the next day, we had a relaxed shopping walk through Connaught Place, picking up souvenirs and soaking in the vibrant energy of the corridors. After shopping at Connaught Place, we wrapped up everything, packed our bags full of memories & left Delhi to head back home.

Delhi truly never felt like this before, it was the incredible Local Guides who made it so deeply special and unforgettable. Monuments and bustling markets are everywhere, but it is the genuine smiles , spontaneous plans , endless chai and coffee chats & shared passions that turn a place into a home. A heartfelt thank you to @SonamW, @Manishhh and the entire Delhi Local Guides community for your incredible hospitality, care & love. You all are the true reason why Delhi never felt like this before. Even after travelling thousands of kilometers back to Kerala, the warmth of the Delhi community stays right with us. A massive thank you to each and every friend who took the time to meet, share and walk alongside us, until our paths cross again.

Really glad you enjoyed the post and photos. This trip brought back so many memories of sharing our journey from the Google Office to Delhi with @Raj_Tayade during Contributors Convention on 2024 - we were just reminiscing about those wonderful days together.
