Just a few months ago, I was celebrating crossing the 7 million milestone
on the places I have added to Google Maps. The momentum has recently taken off in ways I truly did not expect.
To date, I have added 235 places on Google Maps. Here is how the journey unfolded:
-
June 9, 2026: 7,000,000 views
-
September 2026: 7,500,000 views
-
October 2026: 25,000,000 views.
Crossing 25 Million views feels incredible
. Jumping from 7.5M to 25M in just about a month shows how powerful and vital our additions can become as foot traffic, searches & daily navigation pick up. Every single view represents someone finding an essential amenity, discovering a local spot, or navigating their community more easily.
Every addition, whether big or small, contributes to this cumulative impact. While exploring Delhi back in August, I mapped several local busineses & places.
I added Rathod Kulfi in Chandni Chowk. Seeing it accepted and already gaining 662 views is a great reminder of how mapping neighborhood food spots helps people discover authentic local flavors.
I also added Magic Loom, a women’s clothing store in Khan Market. It was approved and has gathered over 300 views, showing how vital it is to put local retail shops on the map for visitors and shoppers.
Beyond shopping and dining, adding essential community infrastructure and cultural spaces has contributed massively to this milestone. Contributions like a public drinking water fountain
, an eco-friendly recycling vending machine
& a local museum
, along with many others have gained substantial views throughout October, proving how much people rely on Maps for sustainable habits, accessibility & exploration.
Milestones like this remind me why we do what we do. It is never just about watching numbers climb on a screen, it is about knowing that a quick photo, well written review or an updated detail removed hesitation for a stranger, directed someone to fresh water or brought a family into a local shop. Here’s to mapping with purpose, celebrating every step of the journey & making the map more inclusive, accessible and vibrant for everyone.
Thank you to everyone in this community for the continuous encouragement, shared knowledge & endless inspiration.
