On July 15th, our amazing Local Guides Connect community celebrates a massive milestone: its 10th Anniversary!
For ten years, we have shared discoveries, improved Google Maps, hosted meet-ups, and built friendships across the globe. Beyond the contributions, it is the people behind the map who make this community truly special.
To celebrate this milestone, I am excited to invite everyone to join a new community campaign:
#MyConnectCaravan
This campaign is all about the memories, friendships, mentorships, and experiences we have shared together. Here is how you can join the celebration:
Share Your Story: Create a new post on the Connect, sharing your favorite memories from your Local Guides journey. You can talk about:
The best meet-up you have hosted or attended.
A Local Guide who has mentored you, or someone you have guided.
An achievement you’re particularly proud of as a Local Guide.
How has being part of this community changed your perspective on the world?
Share Your Best Photos: Bring your stories to life! Share meet-up selfies, travel memories, heritage walks, or your favorite map moments.
Use the Hashtag: Make sure to include #MyConnectCaravan in your post title so the whole community can easily find, read, and give kudos to your story.
Nominate Friends: At the end of your post, tag 3 fellow Local Guides who have been part of your journey and nominate them to share their own #MyConnectCaravan story!

Being a Local Guide has given me the opportunity to discover new places, help local businesses improve their visibility, connect with amazing people from around the world, and contribute meaningful information on Google Maps.
I’m excited to participate in the #MyConnectCaravan campaign and share some of my favorite memories, achievements, and experiences from this amazing journey.

I really love how this campaign encourages us to reflect on our journey, share our experiences, and appreciate the friendships and mentorships built along the way.
I will certainly share my caravan story. Though I joined Local Guides Connect in 2023 and my journey is about 3 years so far, it is already filled with many happy moments and opportunities to meet incredible fellow Local Guides.
