Join the Community challenge on Google Maps

Local Guides have the power to make an impact on people and businesses everywhere. By sharing great photos, detailed reviews, and rating places on Google Maps, you help keep information up-to-date — and helpful for everyone.

When we launched the Local Love challenge last year, we were amazed by the support Local Guides showed their local communities by reaching and overachieving their shared, country-wide goals.

Now, we’re kicking off our first challenge worldwide: the Community challenge. It’s running from November 29 through December 21. Join the challenge and support local businesses like restaurants, shops, and service providers in your area. Add ratings, reviews, and photos for places you’ve been on Google Maps.

Each contribution you make in the challenge screen will count towards your country’s shared milestones. For every 5 posts, you will also earn 5 bonus points. As your community collectively hits new milestones, you’ll be awarded even more points (it’s a surprise!). You’ll be able to see your individual impact stats as well as your collective impact by checking the progress bar.

Who can join the Community challenge?

The Community challenge is available to all Local Guides in nearly all countries worldwide who use Android or iOS devices.

How do I join the Community challenge?

Simply follow these steps:

1. Open your Google Maps app.
2. Visit the Contribute tab.
3. Tap the “Community challenge” card.
4. Rate places, add reviews, and upload photos for places you’ve been.
5. Visit the challenge screen before December 21 to continue contributing to the challenge and see what we’re achieving together by checking the progress bar. Only contributions inside the challenge screen count towards this challenge and earn challenge bonus points when a milestone is achieved.

Caranya kita klik pilihan Contribution di bagian bawah lalu lakukan penawaran yang diminta untuk melakukan ulasan, menambah foto dan lainnya.

please kindly help Deni. I just remembered now that I have a problem regarding Reviews since I came for mission work here in Liberia(West Africa). My reviews automatically goes private. I haven’t written reviews for a long time. I have 44 hidden reviews. I have filled the form for profile check. Any assistance will be appreciated so as to enable me participate to the optimum. This is great, but note the important thing in step 5

I have been adding lots of things just to notice it doesn’t count for the community challenge.

I don’t know if there is maybe a way to get more options to add things within the challenge, seems like you only get like a few contributions per milestone.
This is still a great challenge, and brings must needed life into Local guides system
