"Is using the same Google map account on more devices a problem?"

Hi everyone…

What happens my Google map account is active on two devices… actually my local guide account is active on my wife’s mobile also …so is there any chance that Google may recognise this as some malecious activity… because one person is present at two locations at same time…I am asking this because my points are continuously reduced from my Local guide profile… please moderator…please don’t merge with previous post …here I am asking a doubt…

Hi @Mithunraj ,

Thank you for reaching out! I see that you posted about the same on your previous post with the title Profile points reduced and I will merge it there to prevent duplication.

Additionally your fellow Local Guides have also provided an answer and great tips that you can follow. I am also changing your topic to the How-tos topic label to keep Connect organized. For more details about topics on Connect, check out this article: What are Connect topics.

Hello @Mithunraj since yesterday, I saw several messages here on connect from people who were suddenly loosing points, e.g. here Lost a lot of points suddenly and it seems to be a software glitch, which hopefully will be solved soon.

Reg. “active on two devices”: That should not be a problem. Many times I am permanently logged in from the desktop and the Smartphone at the same time. In addition my wife also uses my account - at least for Play Store (while being logged into Maps with her own profile).

Hi @Mithunraj

With 2 phones moving around separately you will confuse the computers generating your timeline. But if you don’t use your timeline this will likely not be an issue.

I’m logged in on 3 phones, my old ipad and my desktop computer. I don’t think your loss of points is related to this.

All the best

May I suggest you edit the subject of this thread.

“Is using the same Google account on more devices a problem?” will let others know what this is about.

Cheers

Using a proper title, as suggested by @MortenCopenhagen , can help to avoid a post to be merged on the previous one.

For this reason I am moving a reply, moved by @AngieYC on the previous conversation) in the proper place. Sorry Angie :hugs:

I see you had already a lot useful of replies about using the same account in more devices. However I personally would like to avoid having the same account used by more than one person.

We had a conversation about Point Reductions already, stay assured that this is not related to the use of multiple devices, but most probably to posting inappropriate contents
