Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park is situated within the larger area of the Sri Venkateswara Wildlife Sanctuary. While the zoo is not within UNESCO Seshachalam Hills Biosphere Reserve it shares the ecological context of the Seshachalam Hills. The biggest Zoological Park in Asia in terms of area, it was officially recognised by Central Zoo authority in 2017 as ‘Large Category Zoo’.

We recently met with fellow LGs at the Green Land Canteen inside the park. Unlike many other canteens inside other Zoological parks, the 3-4 canteens here are well run. There is hardly any litter or discarded cups and wrappers in open. The perimeter is clean and you have no dogs, monkeys or cats scavenging here.
We had Irani Chai, served in disposable paper cups with Irani Samosa. The Irani samosas triangular in shape are filled with onion and are smaller than North Indian aloo samosas.

We have also added this canteen on Google Maps. Review will soon follow. It will help visitors to the park who may feel hungry or thirsty or may be just looking for a place to sit down for short break.
