Could anyone tell me how to get point from this program?
This program replaces the Street View App, the Street View App can but this one does not.

Is it right? @DeniGu
Thank you!

Hi @AlexNam

We were not awarded Local Guides points for our contributions through the Street Views app.

I don’t know for sure, but I would expect that 360 photos uploaded via the Google Maps app to an existing point of interest (pin) will earn you LG points equal to any other photo. This could easily be tested.

Cheers

Morten

Hi @AlexNam

Street View Studio is currently used to upload videos for publishing as Street Views (aka “blue lines”) and to manage your Street Views. Points have never been awarded for photos Google extracts from the videos during the publishing process. Points are awarded for Photo Spheres that you publish.

EDIT. @AlexNam as explained by @dzeek , Street View studio is designed to upload 360° videos to create Blue Lines. We do not receive points for contributions at Street level.

Regular 360° photos can be uploaded directly on Business listings using Google Maps (either on the App or on desktop) , and you receive the same points that you receive for a flat photo. For more details: Create & publish Photo Spheres to Google Maps

I have several questions about Street View Studio. Am I correct that I need to find one of my cameras designed to take 360º photo spheres to use the app correct? I use an iPhone. Can I download the Street View Studio app onto my phone? If so, how? I have enough memory. I cannot find the app to download. I simply need to search for one of my cameras designed for this purpose if that is my main issue. I know how to upload from my laptop.

Hi @Androoh

  1. I have several questions about Street View Studio. Am I correct that I need to find one of my cameras designed to take 360º photo spheres to use the app correct?

    Street View Studio can only upload and publish 360 videos. 360 photo spheres must be uploaded and published using a third-party tool (such as Pano2VR or GoThru). The 360 videos can either be recorded using a 360 camera or a sequence of 360 photo spheres can be recorded and converted into a 360 video. The required GPS data must either be embedded in the 360 video or provided separately in a GPX file. The sequence of 360 photo spheres can be converted into a video using third-party tool such as the JPG2VID tool included in my UL2GSV suite of tools (see the summary below. UL2GSV is available by joining the Google Group at the link below).

    Street View Sudio can be run on a phone using a web browser to access the Street View Studio web site https://streetviewstudio.maps.google.com/. An app is not currently available in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. You can create a book mark for the web site on your phone home screen for convenience.

UL2GSV Summary

I wanna learn so much about Google Street View 350⁰.

This is excellent for Video. Any chance there is a tool for 360 photo? Now that StreetView App is disappearing on IOS, Google notes to go to the maps app, but this does not allow for placement of 360 photos at all. Any new tool or work-around for 360 photos?

Am I correct that now I can’t add a single 360 photo (still photo) to google street view?
I need to use third party apps? Very poor!

Street View is a sequence of connected photos at Street Level, @gchmiel , generated from a video uploaded in Street View Studio, you cannot add a “single photo” in there

A Virtual Tour is a series of Connected photos added in a listing in Google Maps. You need a Third party software to connect your photos

A single 360 photo can be uploaded (like a flat photo) directly on a Listing in Google Maps

@ErmesT

I’ve read a bit about it. But I want to add a spherical photo not on a Listing in Google Maps but to any coordinates, for example a view from the top of a mountain.

Is any third party app for that? Preferably free.

@gchmiel

It is no longer possible to add photospheres outside pins on Google Maps.

Sorry

Morten

No there is not an App for this, @gchmiel , but several mountain peaks have a listing in Maps
