Thank you for the warm welcome. I don’t know what it is about introductions of this nature, but my mind always goes blank. To start, my name is Opal. Yes, that is my real name. And I LOVE IT!!! Growing up I felt like i was the only Opal in the world. Now, when you search the name on fb or platforms similar, there is a larger number of me’s out there
. However, comparable to the amount of people in the world there is still realistically a small group of us with the name Opal, but i still feel theres more than should be. I can’t remember what I was doing, but I was looking at a list of Opal’s and found one in Tennessee. She was 117 years old. In fact most opals on that list were the ages of 80s, 90s and a couple over 100. I’m not sure if that means I’m gonna live a long life, but I think right somewhere in the 80’s is the prime age to leave this life.
Now, that you know one odd thing about me, I’ll provide you two more fun facts before saying farewell. Fun fact number 2: I want to spend the next half of my life just enjoying the heck out of it. Travel, live light, and start marking off some bucket list items. Meet different people, experience different cultures, see the sun rise and fall somewhere outside of my everyday surroundings. Step away from the traditional and secure way of living and be adventurous!! The first half of my life hasn’t been the easiest, and God is shaping me for something thats for sure. I will take the growing pains of life if it means I’m becoming a better person. In fact, Im grateful for my journey I don’t think I would change a thing about it, and I would do it all over again, especially if the outcomes remain the same.
Fun fact #3: the only time i will ever feel not paranoid and a little creeped out in the ocean is when the water is crystal clear because then I know whats swimming around me. I admittedly have an irrational fear of the ocean, or better said, the things in the ocean.
As I depart from my introduction, my questions to all of you are as follows —Are you doing enough of makes you feel adventurous in life? If not, how can you start living again? Next, would you do your life over again if it meant living the same journey and same outcomes? Why?

Hello everyone! My name is Caio and I’m from Acre, Brazil. I’m currently a Level 5 Local Guide and also a Bronze-level Google Product Expert. My journey with Google Maps started during my first year of high school, when I took part in a school project focused on mapping our city. The project was led by my teacher Jeferson Dutra, who is a Diamond-level Google Product Expert and also a Wikipedia contributor. During the project, we helped map a large part of our city and improve several pieces of information on Google Maps. The project was recognized by our school, and I received a certificate for 240 hours of work. It was also featured by local news outlets in Acre, including AC24Horas and Juruá Online. Today, my contributions on Google Maps have reached more than 40,000 views. I want to keep contributing, learn from other Local Guides, and especially help improve the map of my region and other communities that still have little information available. I’m very happy to finally be part of Local Guides Connect, and I hope to share my experiences, learn from the community, and contribute even more. Nice to meet you all!

Hello Local Guides!
My name is Rahul, and I am a Level 7 Local Guide from Bangladesh. I have been contributing to Google Maps for around three years, mainly by sharing photos and answering questions about local places.
I enjoy exploring different places and capturing random everyday moments with my phone. 
Bangladesh has a beautiful mix of busy towns, quiet villages, local markets, food places, open fields, rivers, and many small places with their own unique stories.
I like documenting these everyday scenes and sharing useful visual information that may help other people discover places more easily on Google Maps.
After being less active on Connect for some time, I am excited to return and contribute more consistently. Over the coming weeks, I will share original photos, practical Google Maps tips, and stories from the places I visit.
