I am very jealous of the amazing view behind you. People who are lucky enough to travel are blessed with memories they can keep their whole lives.
I am travelling with my family from the UK to Vietnam next week. I am especially looking forward to filling my children with the travel bug so they can broaden their minds with experiences.

3. What I love about being a Local Guide: As a local guide, I work as a helper for the local people. In the past few years, the number of restaurants in our country has increased a lot. There are some places where very good food is available, there are some places that look nice but the food is not good, and there are also places where the food, the place and their behavior are not good. I try to go to those new places and give them a review on Google Maps, looking at the quality of the food, the type of place and their behavior. By seeing that, other people can understand which ones to go to and which ones not to go to. And when people get the benefit and thank me, that is my achievement.
4. My favorite thing to explore: Since last year I have been trying to find new food courts in my area. Many people are starting food courts business with little capital. Sometimes I am very surprised when I eat their food, because such delicious food is not available even in many big restaurants. As a small business, it is very important to be with them. Many food courts are temporary, so I don’t add them to Google Maps, but I try to add the ones to the map whose food courts are permanent. They are very happy with it. And when they are happy, I explore my joy in their happiness.
5. Fun fact about me: Whenever I go to a restaurant, I try to order their most expensive or special dish. Because I think the most expensive or special dish will be the most delicious. But my guesses don’t always come true. Sometimes the most expensive or special dishes are the worst. Then my friends make fun of me a lot because they always tell me not to do it, but I do it always.
Name : Andi Brata Location :Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur, Indonesia What I love about being a Local Guide : I like joining a community related to my hobby such as the photography, running, bicycles, trekking and history community including Google Local Guides. With Google Maps I am able to enjoy photography, help people about business, add information to small business owners using Google Maps media. My favorite thing to explore : I am who likes riding bicycles and running for the past 9 years. I find joy when cycling traveling far or near. Use bicycles for daily transportation and i use Google Maps as my vital tool to explore new places that I have never visited before without getting confused when I’m in a new place. Fun fact about me : I’m interested in sign language. In 2016 I liked participating in sign language community activities and in 2017 I moved to a different city and conditions made it impossible to join a sign language community in this new city due to busy work. In 2024, I will start actively seeking information again and can join the sign language community where I live. Then I met the sign community who were learning to recite the Al-Qur’an using sign language, meet deaf cyclists, deaf community like TIBA, TATULI, etc.

Why I love being a Local Guide: I love helping people find their way—whether it’s discovering a hidden gem to eat at or guiding small businesses to get listed on Google Maps. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a local shop go from “unknown” to “on the map” (literally!).
My favorite thing to explore: I’m always up for an adventure outdoors! Whether it’s exploring scenic trails, catching breathtaking sunsets, or just enjoying nature’s beauty, I love being out and about. If there’s a path to walk, hike, or run—I’m there!
Fun fact about me: I speak four Indian languages, English, and now I’m adding Spanish to the mix! So, whether you say Hola, Namaste, or Vanakkam, I’ve got you covered.
I always enjoy reading these Welcome articles @AngieYC.
Nice to meet you @RJSheetal! The mountains capped with ice and the buildings in front are such a majestic view. I really connected with you on what you mentioned about enjoying the sunset and sunrises. It always offers such a feeling of peace in those hours and the sky is so colorful at those times. That fun fact was pretty cool too- a souvenir to remember the trips- I love that!
