Indian Breakfast Challenge - Sudamache Pohe in Pune

This is in response to @Ssiddharth2000 Breakfast challenge

Although I mostly have breakfast at home, there are times, such as a meetup, when it’s best to have it at our favorite place.

Sudama Che Pohe is a top place in Pune to have breakfast.

Pohe means rice puffs, and Sudama is a legendary person who symbolizes lifelong friendship with Lord Krishna.

When Lord Krishna visited Sudama after a long time, Sudama had nothing but some Poha to offer to him. Hence the name of this shop.

Local guides had their morning breakfast at this place during last year’s mega meetup in Pune.

Their classic Maharashtrian Pohe is awesome in taste, and they also have a cool-looking Tea Cart to complement the Pohe.

They have an outlet on Baner Road as well @MerlinThomas
Closer to where we live.
Alternatively, visiting the Shaniwar Wada outlet is also a nice idea, as there are many historical places to explore in the area.

Oh yes, I remember, during our first mega meet-up in Pune, we all gathered here and then moved on. Good-quality food. @TusharSuradkar

Cheers!

They have an outlet on Baner Road as well @AjitThite

But, in general, I am not sure if all outlets maintain the same quality.
What is your experience like in this matter?

same here @TusharSuradkar I usually have breakfast at home more often, and that’s my only meal schedule at home. while lunch and dinner are almost always outside. once I have breakfast outside, I usually meet friends from various regions who come to my city. of course eating and chatting is a very exciting thing. thank you for sharing your breakfast story this time with your community friends!

Local guides in Pune need an excuse to hang out and chill.
We cannot let go of a challenge as an opportunity  to meet.

Yes, that’s true @curatorofmemory

We believe in smaller, but more frequent meetups to stay updated on Google Maps and Connect than a one huge Mega Meetup, then forgetting it all

What a lovely story behind Sudama Che Pohe @TusharSuradkar ji.

I love how food connects us to culture and history in such meaningful ways. It must have been great to share that experience with fellow Local Guides during the meetup.

Do you have any other favorite breakfast spots in Pune that you’d recommend for someone wanting to explore more local flavors?

Thank you @TusharSuradkar for sharing this amazing place to try Pohe along with refreshing kadak Chai. The poha looks delicious. Poha, misal pav are the two dishes I definitely want to try when I visit Pune. I make poha at home atleast 2-3 times a month but eating at this iconic place would be a great experience. Greatly appreciate your participation in my challenge dear @TusharSuradkar
