Local Guides from India have hosted more than 700[1] meet-ups till December, 2025, and out of these, more than 250[2] meet-ups were organised in 2025 alone. These 250+ meet-ups covered a wide range of themes, including Meet & Greet, Sustainability, Nature, Heritage, Food Walks, Festival Celebrations and Knowledge Shairing.Several meet-ups were also covered by print media.
Definitely, the credit for this remarkable number 250 goes to our Connect Moderator & Meet-up Champion, @NareshDarji. In January 2025, he invited all Local Guides to host meet-ups, which created a real boom in meet-up hosting. Although this call was officially for hosting meet-ups until 28 February 2025, the community was so energized by his initiative that the momentum continues even now, with Local Guides actively hosting meet-ups. During 2025 Connect Moderator & Meet-up Champion NareshDarji himself hosted three unique in-person meet-ups. Connect Moderator @Globe_trotter_Ish also hosted 4 unique meetups during this period. Connect Moderator @TusharSuradkar hosted 9 meet-ups in 2025, including a Mega Meet-up in Pune. He was also a major source of motivation behind organising the Delhi Mega Meet-up hosted on 29th June and the Bengaluru Mega Meet-up hosted on 20th September.
In 2025, twleve LG10ScavengerHunt meet-ups & five Mega Meet-ups were hosted- two in Bengaluru, one in Delhi, one in Pune, and one in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The Delhi and Bengaluru Mega Meet-ups were graced by the presence of Googler @Latika_Malhotra, making them even more special for the community.
During 2025, 13 meet-ups of the Ghumakkad Gossip series, hosted by @Kumaarsantosh, were especially impactful. These virtual sessions focused on grooming Local Guides on various topics related to Google Maps and Connect. Guest speakers included Connect Moderators from India and abroad, along with experienced Local Guides who shared subject-specific knowledge.
Further inspired by the #LG10 Meet-up call by NareshDarji, I (@K.K.Sharma) also hosted 25 meet-ups & Co-hosted two mega meet-ups in 2025. Among these, my meet-ups on correct use of Connect tags, conducting quizzes and polls, writing posts on Connect,Voices of Sustainability (virtual), and Heritage & Food Walks, along with the #LG10ScavengerHunt (in-person).

After searching for meet-ups in India on Localguidesconnect.com, I found 660 approved meet-ups from October 2020 to December 2025. Out of these, there were no meet-ups hosted between June and October 2024. However, after speaking with one of the senior Local Guides, I came to know that the total number of meet-ups hosted in India is approximately one thousand. â©ïž
267 approved meet-ups are available on Connect that were hosted in India â©ïž
