We’re excited to officially invite you to #USAMeetup2026 in Key West, Florida, happening June 4–7, 2026.

This meetup is designed to be fun, social, and flexible—with plenty of time to explore, connect, and experience Key West together.

This is the first-ever USA Local Guides Meetup—a chance to meet fellow Guides from across the country (and beyond) in one of the most unique destinations in the U.S.

  • This is an unofficial meetup organized by Local Guides for Local Guides

  • It is not sponsored by Google

  • Attendees are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and expenses

:backpack: What to Bring / Consider

Key West is casual, walkable, and warm—plan accordingly!

  • Comfortable walking shoes (you’ll use them a lot!)

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing (it’s warm & humid)

  • Hat, sunglasses & sunscreen

  • Reusable water bottle (stay hydrated!)

  • Phone/camera + portable charger (you’ll want photos of everything)

  • Mobility aids if helpful (Old Town streets can be uneven)

Optional but nice:

  • Small backpack or day bag

  • Light rain layer (quick showers can happen)

I wish I could make this trip! I lived in Key West for 2 years back in the mid 70s and I’ve visited a couple of times since then but not in about 20 years…you people are going to have a wonderful time because Key West is a wonderful place!

We’re officially in #USAMeetup2026 Week! Can’t wait to see everyone!

Looks like fun. I used to live in South Florida, so Key West was just a 4 hour drive (you’d be surprised as it’s not exactly right next to Miami). Been a few times.

Things you gotta do:

  • Get a frozen Key Lime Pie on a Stick (it’s one of their things)
  • They call themselves the “Conch Republic,” and you should definitely eat some conch fritters there (Alonzo’s Oyster Bar has good ones)
  • Cuban sandwiches…you’re not far from Cuba! They’re a South Florida staple
  • Grab drinks at Caroline’s Other Side (if it’s still there…it’s been about six years)
  • Grab drinks at Sloppy Joe’s, which is the most famous bar in Key West and it’s very Ernest Hemingway
  • Hog’s Breath is another classic Key West bar
  • The Smallest Bar…not a great bar, but definitely worth the photo op
  • You obviously have to go to the Southernmost Point
  • Check out Ernest Hemingway’s house

Outside of that, have fun and do whatever floats your boat! Enjoy!
