I love being a local guide because I can share what my community needs: for example Halal food!

I am a proud Muslim and I care about what I eat. I travel a lot and I love exploring local food. But there is always a fall-back, I just can’t eat everything. As a Muslim I can only eat food that is halal. Two years back it was really tough. Because if you go to a new place, you don’t know where to find Halal food. Being a tourist it was extremely difficult to find food that you can actually eat. There maybe a very good restaurant that serves halal food, but you have no idea about it… because you are new here.

Google Local Guides solve the problem! Now we have tons of reviews and descriptions of local restaurants. Its really just a matter of scrolling through the reviews, and that’s it! You also can ask a question about a restaurant or a place and people who have been there will actually answer your question! Isn’t it great?!
I feel extremely proud of being a part of it. I share food pictures, reviews, pros and cons etc. and I know people are getting benefitted though this! Amazing community! Love love love! <3

Hello @iffatur_ridwan and welcome to Connect!

Thank you for sharing your first post! Since you’re new to the community, you might want to share a bit more about yourself and get to know others in our monthly Introduce Yourself - June 2019. You can also take a look at these 14 helpful tips for using Connect, and What are Connect topics?

I’m going to move your post to the Local Stories section on Connect where the Local Guides from all around the world share their local stories and inspiration why they like to be Local Guides and how they contribute to Google Maps. I will also add a Food&drink tag.
