How to weekend brunch in Bellingham

Definitely go early. If you can’t go early, go with the willingness to wait. Hang out. Let the world unfold around you. Eavesdrop to pass the time. Then when it’s your turn to eat, savor. If you’re a vegetarian, go to Old Town Cafe and try the Veggie Biscuits and Gravy. If you like a good-old tasty, greasy spoon go to the Little Cheerful and have some California Browns. Try to win a free coffee with some trivia at Arliss’s. Hmm. Let’s see… You could do the sustainably sourced, grass-fed version of fast-food breakfast at Fiamma Burger, or you could go a few doors down to Avenue Bread for an Eggenue or yummy French Toast. Geez. There are options aplenty. Mt. Bakery has a good breakfast crepe, and if you don’t want to wait for a table downtown, try Fairhaven. Skylarks is a pretty good basic breaky in a nice setting, or you could go to Harris Avenue Cafe for some delicious Polenta Rancheros. Camber has good coffee and interesting menu items and a super hip-kid vibe. If you’re looking for a Bloody Mary, then Bayou on Bay is a sure bet, or if you really feel like making a trek, Hilltop is a classic. There’s something for every brunch mood in this town. Enjoy.
