I have been a Local Guide for several years and one thing I haven’t figured out is how to review, fast-food places ie(McDonald’s, Burger King, ect). A lot of the times while writing I try to write it from the perspective of someone who has never been there before. My only issue with this is that it feels awkward to write about the food since the quality of food doesn’t really change from location to location.
Do you just usually avoid a written review for these places or do you put more weight in the service and dining area over the food? i would love to hear your thoughts and tips you have when it comes to this.
I personally like to give a review based on: quality of food; quality of service; location; price
Obviously, on big chain there are two constant elements: quality of food and price, as they are related to the standard level of the group. I may love McDonald’s, or I may go there just because is the only place available for my lunch, my evaluation of food and price will not change. But of course location and service may vary from place to place.
Agreed, all such establishment will demonstrate broad similarities.
All the more there would be subtle variations, and that generates a tremendous impact on the customer inclination.
The solution given by @ErmesT does provide some insights.
I wish to mention some added variables on which the distinctions can happen.
Location of the place - in a prime area or some distant corner.
Ease in discovering the spot.
Accessibility limitations.
Drive-in service.
Number of floors. There would be a subtle resistance to reach a mezzanine for seating.
Ease of locating an empty place.
Overall vibe or ambiance.
How the administration handles long queues efficiently?
Any extra courtesy exhibited by the attendants.
Time to deliver the ordered items.
Upkeep.
Additional facilities - Some units may not include privies.
Special treatment to kids.
The list is not exhaustive. But the moment we start noticing the subtleties, many more such impressions surface out.
