Reporting seems to be useless. My road has been closed this week and will be closed next week as they replace a culvert. The Android version says six people have reported the road closure, but 1) Google on my phone still give me directions over a stretch I’ve told them twice is closed (including 15 minutes ago), and 2) nothing shows up on maps.google.com for that part of the road.
Hi @AriMar
Thank you for sharing this with us.
This is a very good feature.
I’m always happy to know that my contribution can save people time or life.
Unfortunately it’s not yet available in my country

https://maps.app.goo.gl/8CrkJBy7h8mQBYZr9) using the outlined steps. Thanks @AriMar , i am sure this will help a whole lot of person navigating the road using google map direction.
Hi @AriMar , this same procedure aplies When the road is in reparation, or what to do, excelent day Local Guides!
“Waze” have a similar function and above that you can report any road hazards, like accidents, dead animals or other obstcles on road. Now, “Waze” was bought by Google, so some functionalities can be ported (eventually qith improvements) to Google maps easily.
This is the most important info during a crisis.
Many roads were interrupted by typhoon19th.
Is this service provided in Japan?
Unfortunately I was not available.
We need it ,just NOW!
Thank you @AriMar for explaining it in detailed steps.
I regularly do notify the Road Closures on the Maps as soon as as I encounter one.

Madhukar
Hi
I can’t report road closure in google map. Why?
Thanks again @AriMar
This sounds like a wonderful way of using the map to help people.
I’ve being trying to get this steps as you have them listed for ours now without any success. I haven’t even figured out how to get to the crisis card.
I’m using android device
Are you currently located in an area that Google has identified as a crisis area? Like an earthquake zone, flooding area or volcano eruption, to mame just a few?
The crisis card is not something that the users can access or activate on their own, it is done by Google where major natural disasters are happening.
If you currently are in a crisis area you may want to mention it in your reply to see if a Google employee can provide you with more information.
wow…
it can improve our google maps
