How to get message option?

Recently some of the LG’S were saying, they got a new option called message.

I have updated my map and I am also beta tester having the app installed. Still not getting that new option.

Can someone help?

Hi @JohnPeter yes, I’ve noticed this in Google Maps for iOS. Seems that is still rolling out on Android.

This is where the chat messages with business owners will be shown. Obviously, I’ve already have the other side, that is shown on Google MyBusiness console, that is done through Google ALLO I think that the Messages option in Google Maps app will simply be a shortcut to Google ALLO app.

Hi dear @LucioV ,

Thanks for your kind information. Just I have installed Allo but the message option now showing in my map.

I have also google my business in use and app is up to date. And my phone and Android is also latest

In my country many are got this option too.

Hi @JohnPeter my Google Maps application is not showing Message option too.

But as you enable messaging on some GMB entry you manage, you can receive messages directed on that place, and the messages will show up in ALLO.

To test everything, I will send you a private message.

This is a new feature that is starting to roll out in some areas of the world. It isn’t global yet I don’t think.

Message/Chat is an evolution of questions where the person using Maps can talk directly to the business owner. The business must enable it for it to be available on any place.

It is never exactly clear how Google roll out updates @JohnPeter - they don’t let us in on those secrets :slight_smile:

I’ve been around, I think at this time of year our timezones don’t usually coincide much. I’m not usually home during the day.

Hi @deepakjhic no, I had’nt added anything.

Anyway, today I’m not able to find out the messages :smiley: but I’ve received messages in my android app too.

It’s a strange thing.

I can find messages in my Google Maps app, and are opening inside maps app.

But on the other side, GMB, I’m not able to see anymore the messaging option, and the only way to find messages is through ALLO.

So we are everyday watching new updates in the community and the Google maps application. And recently Google maps added a new message function in their application which is rendered for various business owners, and

enabled by business owners, and will allow us to communicate with them.

Yes @MashaPS , I loved the feature. I have recieved 3-4 messages regarding my review and they are asking for further #feedback and #suggestions. It’s just awesome
