Hi @tonyvfield “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect”.This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here
I agree to your suggestion, and sometimes I would like to be able to filter some of the suggestions I receive from Maps. However this is not actually possible.
A feedback to the team can be sent in two ways:
Through Google Maps, selecting"Send product feedback "
Through this post. In this case I suggest you to edit the title of your post making it more specific. Actually the word “reviews” in Maps is mostly referred to the reviews we write about listings, a this can confuse the readers. As Googlers are reading our posts, a more specific title can help others to join the conversation here.
Do you have a doubt about how to do something? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.
Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation
I have changed the title and will try and give them feedback via the program as well.
However you say that we cant presently restrict areas etc that we are prepared to give feedback on. This is very sad for a number of reasons.
A guide is being asked for something they think is worthless. They are therefore less likely to open the requests resulting in less feedback to the system.
G keeps on putting places into my timeline that I have not been to. There is one place I ‘visit’ next door 5 days a week and another place I visit next door to once per week. I have never been to either place and in fact for one of them I would never want to be in the place as the managers ended up in jail for the activities going on there. If I tell G I have not been there, I then get another message saying they have removed it from my time line, further wasting my time for a place I did not visit.
It gets very annoying and so yes I ignore its suggestions on my phone a lot of the time since some of the stuff is a waste of effort for me to respond to.
