How to add a Star Photo & Star Video on Top 100 Leaderboards System

The Top 100 Leaderboards is a wonderfully motivating initiative by @AdamGT wherein we need to enter our Google maps data by the 28th of every month to facilitate showcasing The Top 100 local guides in every aspects like maximum reviews, maximum views on reviews, photos, videos & more. This data is published for the Local Guides community in the beginning of every month to build a healthy competition & growth amongst the community.

What is a Star Photo?

As I understand, Star photo is the photo on your Google maps profile with the maximum views so far.

How do you find your Star Photo / Video

1. Go to your Google maps profile
2. Go to Photos
3. Sort photos / videos by ‘Most Viewed’
4. Take a screenshot of the Photo & Video

How to Update your Star Photo / Video

1. Take a screenshot of the Star

   Photo / Video from your Google maps profile as detailed above

2. Then open the link ‘Add your Star Photo Here’ - Add your Star photo here. This links open to the Star Photo album of the Year 2025by @AdamGT on Connect here. Likewise to open and uploaded screenshot of your Star Video Click Here

3. Add the screenshot of your Star Photo as a ‘Reply’ to the Star Photo album of the Year 2025 on Connect here for example below is my Star Photo. This is of a Cafe in Delhi. You can see that this photo has 702679 views on Google maps . This screenshot will be attached on connect as a reply to the Star photo of the Year 2025 album along with a 3-4 lines description about the photo like where was it taken, what does it showcase etc

4. This is how I have added the screenshot on Connect. Once screenshot is added along with the description, copy the link of your reply and paste it somewhere because you will need this link to be added in the Star Photo details.

   

5. Now open the T100 Top 100 leaderboard system on the link - Top 100 Leaderboards System

6. This opens to the screen below . Enter your Login Id and Password & login to the Top 100 Leaderboards system.

8. The below page opens up.

10. Click the Top right 3 horizontal lines and the below page opens up.

11. Click on ‘Your Stars’ & then ‘Star Photo.’ Data for both Star photo and Star video has to be uploaded separately but these both follow the same process.

12. Now enter the details of the Star Photo as required. It’s super easy.

Check the 2st check box - Tick if this is a new or replaces a previous Star Photo.

Date of screenshot - current date or the date when you took the screenshot of your star photo from Google maps

Views - as shown on the star photo

URL of the connect post - the URL of your reply on the Star Photo Album of the Year 2025 that I had asked you to save in Point No 4.

Add other details like

****How would you describe the subject of your Star Photo? Are there any other features? ****What is the name of the place as shown on Google Maps? What is the Google maps category of the photo? Name of country and place where taken? Camera used etc.

To add details of when was the Star Photo or Video posted on Google maps - Please open the star photo or video on a laptop or desktop. You will find the month and year of posting at the bottom right side of the picture like below:

Click on Save Star Photo. You will get a pop up like shown below and a caption is auto-generated. You can copy paste this caption in the Reply section where you added the screenshot along with the description of the Star Photo.

Caption: @Shalz’s Star Video of Pizzeria Da Susy uploaded on 2023-11-28 showing 1,039,668 views as at 2025-12-28

I have done on this on Iphone 14.

While details of both the Star Photo and Star Video have to be uploaded separately but the process for both is the same. You just need to use the links as listed in Point 2 above to first add your screenshots in the Star Photo / Video album of the Year 2025

This will help and ensure that your entry is sent for the monthly Top 100 Leaderboards and motivate and encourage everyone to participate.

I tried to update my data as we need to do it every end of the month but I am failing to do so. @PrasadVR is in constant touch with me and equally concern. @AdamGT is also on the process.

The problem is bit unclear to us as of now.
But thank you for sharing the details with us. @Shalz people now can clearly know the concept behind star photo and video.

Where exactly are you failing in the process @Ruchee2? Is it the basic data entry, or the Star Photo and Star Video updates?

Could you post a screenshot of any specific area of difficulty?

While filling the star photo data.

I can share the screenshots with you about what I am facing even after filling every correct I think.

I also feel that the information should have been auto filled as I have done this procedure last month also. Only a few fields needs to be filled again but it’s asking me to fill everything from scratch.

@Ruchee2 is the location Kota or Gurugram? Your screenshot says Kota. Second though I don’t think this is the cause of the error you are getting. You may still try. Is this the same photo as the last month?

@Ruchee2 I agree if the star photo is the same as the previous month, the part of the data should be autofilled ..

The error you are getting seems more to do with the browser IE or chrome? Which one are using? Tried a different browser?

This looks like a browser error. Everything else before that, seems correct. Do you have a different device you can try?

Hey @Shalz so last month also I filled Kota only.
Since I am organically from kota and my residencial address belongs to that place so.
I am based in Gurugram regarding my work.
I dun know what is wrong with the leadership board thing in my case.
Let’s hope for the best

The other issue seems like a browser issue. Try a different browser or device.
